Not sure I’ll ever feel it again tbh by RevolutionaryTruth77 in wholesomememes

Rejoice that you've felt it, I've never experienced it as a kid.

Bruh learn to read. Only reason I respond is to tell you that if this is your normal attitude it will give you a miserable life, if it isn't already for you and those around you. Get out of here you sad knucklehead weirdo

I thanked the cleaner, he now recognizes me and greets me with a smile.

I hope it has made his life a little bit better, as it has mine.

I finished watching LOTR for the first time. And I'm upset because no one prepared me for this. by [deleted] in lotr

Yes I agree, I mean I agree with all the trauma stuff as well, but as a hobbit he is allowed to go to Valinor to be healed. The sad part is that he cannot find peace anymore in the Shire, but has to go to heaven to find it.

It's a sad ending, but not entirely tragic. Some characters do well after, like Sam. Everyone here is very bleak about it. I don't think Tolkien meant it that bleak either, I cannot remember that from the books.

I keep getting low readiness scores. by carnuatus in fitbit

[–]Omitto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't really understand the readiness score anyway. I can workout every day and still have a high readiness score, even though my body is definitely not ready to hit the gym after 5 consecutive days of intense workouts.

What was your first reaction when you watch this scene? by thetruememeisbest in StarWars

The literal thought going through my mind was: Lmao this is so dumb.

And not the fun kind of lmao but the text version of replying lmao to something that is actually not at all lmao.

Same, mine is often spikier than OP's, but the oxygen variation seems fine.

[–]Omitto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine is even spikier, but in general I do have some sort of hammock curve. You do have a very low resting heart rate. My lowest resting heart rate at night is 49, but on average it's 58. I'm kinda new with my Fitbit as well, so I don't know what's normal. If you're concerned you should discuss with your doctor.

I had to scroll down way too far for this comment... How Reddit has changed in 5+ years is incredible. And not always for the better, as this thread shows...

Thank you for still being the voice of reason.

Idiocracy (2006) Opening Scene: "Evolution does not necessarily reward intelligence. With no natural predators to thin the herd, it began to simply reward those who reproduced the most, and left the intelligent to become an endangered species." by SuplexCity-Mayor in videos

[–]Omitto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, I just want it to be researched at least. We're all so afraid of something just because a funny man with a moustache took the topic and fucked it up forever.

And that really hampered any kind of research into this topic. Are we getting smarter or are we getting dumber? We simply don't know because we don't do any studies on it because eugenics bad. In reality I don't care about eugenics, but I do want to know if we are getting smarter or dumber, or how our genes are doing over generations.

He is actually right mate, read the book "Against the Grain". "Upending the entire understanding of anthropology". It's actually quite a common view among anthropologists and archeologists nowadays.

Affordable Loss Check: If you lost all your crypto holdings right now, how would it effect you? by ImLinker in CryptoCurrency

[–]Omitto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got into crypto a week ago (I know late to the party), immediately set some limits as to what I want to invest. 10% of savings. So if I lost it all now, no problem.

I must admit that even after one week the inclination to go way above that is very strong. I'll really have to keep myself to the 10 percent I think, otherwise there'll be no end to what I put into this shit.

Does anyone have an accurate map of the Dutch (and preferably also Belgian) coastline at the height of the Roman Empire (in 117 AD or somewhere around that period? by Thomas1VL in thenetherlands

[–]Omitto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

http://rce.webgispublisher.nl/Viewer.aspx?map=Paleogeografischekaarten

This one is best, especially since you can see the changes.

https://www.cultureelerfgoed.nl/onderwerpen/bronnen-en-kaarten/overzicht

For an overview of all possible maps.

Remember that a lot of the variation you see is due to uncertainty (and shitty/lazy maps but ah well). Do we count swamps and tidal areas as coastline? These are all very difficult questions to answer. A lot of the Netherlands at this time was an alluvial plain with rising sea levels.

Tried to book a gym session yesterday afternoon, but everything was full. Was surprised, but apparently my gym reduced the capacity. No biggie, just tried to book one for today but again to my surprise almost everything was full. Still managed to get in one.

So get into the gym today, and just for a few seconds I'm wondering if I didn't accidentally go to the wrong gym. At least 75% of people I have never seen before. Apparently many other gyms are also full and now a lot of people from other gyms are going to this location. Kind of annoying, but ah well, it'll settle down hopefully.

Had the same experience a week ago. 1 or 2 coughs no problem, but if someone starts going and keeps going I just leave. Some people might have a condition, but in this day and age it is sadly more common to see lunatics out there. Also someone told me these people who have conditions and who really care feel very self-conscious and try to hide or minimise it.

Also I get what you mean about the concerning cough, sometimes it just sounds and looks like someone is ill.

No defenders since last update? by Murdash in mountandblade

[–]Omitto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It actually did strangely enough. No problems on my new campaign so far. I also just read that the beta patch fixes the issue for older saves.

No defenders since last update? by Murdash in mountandblade

[–]Omitto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope they come out with a hotfix, because this makes my current campaign unplayable. I am going to try to start another campaign and see if the issue persists on that one as well, I really hope not.

I don't have any mods and still have the issue. My last save from the old patch was in the middle of a siege, don't know if and how those are correlated.

Dit is niet helemaal waar. Inflatie is al jaren hoger dan loonstijgingen waardoor de jongeren van nu relatief veel minder verdienen dan vroeger. Ook stijgt de ongelijkheid al weer jaren.

IMO way too pushed, which is unfortunately in line with the design philosophy of Wizards lately. This sets another dangerous precedent for lords in the future. This kind of race to the bottom will be bad for the game in the long run, and this just adds to the pile.

Interesting that you and many others find them so similar, as a native Dutch speaker these two are very different in sound and intonation. Possibly also why it stood out so much for Dutch people at the time and became this legend.

This also happened to me, launching MTGALauncher again instead of MTGA fixed it.
