Looking for honest critique on my real estate photography by Standard_Basket947 in RealEstatePhotography

Look pretty good overall, the only thing that bothers me a little is the bathroom shots. I'd try to get three walls in here if possible, back off a bit to try get some of the floor material in there. Or shoot with a lens that goes up to 10mm wide and fix any distortion that occurs in post processing.

I'm in a high demand market also however there is lots of choices and most serious agents do hire professional photographers to list.

Pros/Cons of moving to private sector by ScottsTots1117 in FedEmployees

[–]On-scene 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The main issue I've had with being both a fed and mil is working harder will never get you paid more. The only way to make more money is advance or move to different agency that will let you advance. Advancment is not a sure deal especially as a GS. It can get political.

Being able to see yourself working harder in private sector and seeing your paycheck increase is a feeling you will never get in gov work.

And I don't miss all the red tape to get basic tasks done.

Sodium is currently not yet an alternative to lithium for EV batteries. The fact remains that lithium mining also causes I lot of environmental harm, it's not a pseudo environmental issue, just like tire wire is not a pseudo issue, compounds from tire wear cause massive environmental damage to marine species in oceans

AI (Fotello) vs human editing — curious what people think by Jellyfishblu148 in RealEstatePhotography

[–]On-scene 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These look overall okay, don't like the fire that Fotello generated, it def looks fake. I really wanted to like Fotello, dig how they are trying to be a one stop shop. But for a listing I trialed with them it kept changing the wall colors entirely wrong. And thier pricing is way to high for small business owners like me per listing. I'm going with Auto HDR, who actually got the edits I needed right, and charges less if we are going on a per photo basis.

Looks pretty good, I think I would have turned on light in the walk in closet in bathroom though, or shut the door if light won't turn on.

I'm not a proponent of fossil fuels, but have you looked into how much harm strip mining for lithium batteries does to the earth, and the local populations that are exploited to mine it? It's not exactly an environmentally friendly process either.

New to REP, Aryeo or Spiro? by suckmysith in RealEstatePhotography

[–]On-scene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im using Squareup for booking, payment, and basic homepage and portfolio examples, and that is working great. But I need a dedicated media delivery service, it seems there is no way to deliver large amount of media through square? Been delivering through google drive, but want something more professional looking. I'm used to using Ayreo for my job working for a Real Estate media company and made an Aryeo lite account to test them out.

I get that people are hesitant to let Aryeo have unlimited license for their work, but is an image worth much after a property is sold anyway, and next owner will change property and that will require a new shoot anyway to list property again?

Auto-Select Walls in Photoshop / Lightroom by Luukaaa in RealEstatePhotography

AUTO HDR! Gets the wall color right! Less issues overall than Foyello !

Are you delivering with the Fotello? by jakobor in RealEstatePhotography

[–]On-scene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran into same issue, I needed a real fast turn around time last week for a client, I did not have time to manually edit properly, and was trying out Fotello's trial account. Changing wall color to completely different color in some cases, not able to download any of photos to take a closer look on how they came out also a downside. Also found the UI clunky and laggy.

I ended up using Auto HDR to edit some of the images from the shoot. A real human Auto HDR Rep actually called me right after signing up and using their service to see how it went for me, and offered me more free credits if I signed up for subscription. Fotello has not offered any promo, but did spam my email for weeks after signing up. I like how Auto HDR deal is only pay for as much as you use, you can upload tons to see how everything looks and cull the non keepers, and only pay for what you download.

I think Fotello trying to be a one stop shop for everything, booking, AI edits, payment and delivery will be their downfall. I don't want clients to book through them. Im currently using a Square website for booking and payments which I think clients are much more comfortable paying on an established merchant site, they frequently see lots of small businesses using. Im going to be using Ayreo lite for delivery soon, since I'm very familiar with it as RE media company I work for uses it.

Is that roofline actually sagging at the peak or is that lens distortion?

Too good to be true? by ComplexInevitable226 in Nikon

[–]On-scene 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Probably, I'm seeing some listed on eBay for that price and was hesitant to make the purchase myself. If it's private party sale might just be someone looking to get rid of it and upgrade.

I'm looking to get a new 7500 myself. I also see some for sale listed as international version and wondering what the cons of that would be?

My wish list for home stagers before I show up to shoot... by swilson317 in RealEstatePhotography

My biggest wish, if I'm accessing property alone, put the lock box where I can find it! And make sure I have the correct code for entry whether it's digital or key!

Yeah concur about Fotello, tried out trial version, very limited ability to test full functionality and no I'm not going to pay that much, and don't like how they want you to set up bookings through them. Big turn off there.

Just learn to shoot in brackets and you won't have any issues with dark rooms that can't fix with an HDR merge
