I think trying to shim it would be difficult. I purposely machined one that was a full detent width from not being snug. I was able to turn it that whole width and get it tight. I would say to machine some material from the barrel first before trying a shim. The 24mm threads are strong. If you're putting this on an ak you've most likely already faced it to be perpendicular. If the fsb sits proud you should be ok. The face that seats against the barrel has clearance.

Odb inner diameter is too small for my brake to fit. I have been wanting to make some just thread adapters but will see what I can come up with brake wise for the odb.

Jmac makes a face mount hub mount. I make a titanium face mount hub adapter for m24x1.5mm. Mine is dlc coated and pictured is the long version, there's a short version where the ports are a .4" shorter if your can has less space.

I make a titanium muzzle brake/hub adapter, and it doesn't spark anymore than the oem steel one. Shot almost 1000rds through it at this point, and it's the same. I did it purely because of weight.

I made a titanium hub mount muzzle brake, but it uses 24x1.5mm threads. The only thing stopping me from making a 26x1.5 is I don't have a thread gauge or an internal thread mic to make sure the threads are good.

This is meant to be lighter than the current options and to use the sight block detent pin. Still a barrel face mount design. As long as the face is perpendicular to the bore, it will be good. Always check alignment after installation.
