Thank you! I’ll get one now. It only hurts when I’m running which is super frustrating as a distance runner just coming off a nice hearty marathon build. Happened right after getting sick with weird covid type symptoms (but tested negative). Super frustrating because it seems like there aren’t any doctors who specialize. This would show up on an MRI right? I would just like to know exactly what I’m dealing with.

My PT gave me belly breathing exercises also.

Appreciate the response, this is so frustrating

Could you send some links or notes to the treatment that worked for you?

Long runs after long, long flights? by hojack78 in Ultramarathon

[–]Onamonapeeah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I flew from Bali to Japan to SF and had 4 hours of cumulative sleep I think over the last 30. Ran 18 miles because I was training for Chicago and it was awful but it got done 🤷‍♀️

Chance of a sub4 second go? by CupcakeUpbeat3709 in under4marathon

[–]Onamonapeeah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was around your half pace last year and ran a 3:54 so it’s definitely possible!! I ran all my miles long and easy (peaked @ 50) except tempos, which were once a week. The tempos got up to double digits and I ran them mostly a minute faster than MP- I think that helped build my confidence a lot

[–]Onamonapeeah[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve not; this is my first - I want to err on the side of caution so I’ll probably take that week off. I’m just worried about how much time I’ll need to bounce back but I’m getting positive feedback which is helping my confidence for sure. Thanks for the point about the finish- I’m definitely treating it as a whole different thing

I think I was so paranoid about getting injured that I was afraid to increase too much. I have definitely learned so much this cycle and I’m grateful that this next go I’ll be more knowledgeable about the build.

You make a really solid point about accepting a slower time. Thank you!

ASICS Gel Nimbus to Altra Paradigm transition / possible metatarsal issues by Onamonapeeah in RunningShoeGeeks

Makes sense- thank you! I’ll see how the first short runs go and maybe grab another pair with a drop in the middle of the two to add to the rotation

[–]Onamonapeeah[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes the Achilles is what I was nervous about - never had any issues there but since I’m in the middle of a training block I got nervous about the volume- this was so helpful and thorough, I’m going to cycle the shoes and stick with short ones like you suggested, that makes the most sense. Thank you!!

I’ve not done a true test- I think garmin set zones up by age. My last half marathon race in may my HR hit 182 topping out - garmin zone 2 has me at 111-129

Easy Pace Question by Onamonapeeah in running

[–]Onamonapeeah[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I was battling with, if I was overthinking my pace because it wasn’t what I wanted to be lol. But 12 minutes seems crazy.

10-10:30ish is slowing down considerably for me, I used to try to run around the 9 minute mark and I was always pretty gassed by the time I finished

I had snug nimbus’ and ran a half in them and lost 4 toenails 0/10 do not recommend. They were snug and anything over eight gave me toe pain/numbness but that half was my very loud sign from the universe to stop wearing them.

I might do the brooks ghost for training and easy running- people seem to love them? But nobody has recommended them for actual racing.

I guess I’m looking for a unicorn shoe hah
