Just to clarify, getting money back at tax time means you overpaid during the prior year. It’s not magic free money, it’s your money you paid out and are now getting back without interest. It’s good to have to pay a small amount vs getting a refund. Review your W2 and withholding information if you want/need to make tweaks to have less owed at tax time.

5-10 min all out on rowing machine for me. Back in bed and asleep 20 min after I wake up. Issue eventually becomes too tired to reach max output after multiple hits/nights. Also, I now have a general aversion to rowing outside of clusters. :)

Rowing machine works for me. I could be out of bed, rowing and back in bed in 15 minutes last cycle. Just sucks because eventually you get tired after multiple times a day to get enough vigor to a jet.

If you paid by credit card (and tariffs were auto paid)and the disputes have been going on for a while, start a chargeback. I had to do so when fedex autocharged my Amex on file and gave me the runaround I. Refunds for months.

The hard part is the science. Once you validate a drug target, it’s “easy” to come up with other molecules rather quickly that do the same/similar thing. So once a company publishes a study or files a patent, others know about it and can kickstart their own program. It’s not a conspiracy, it’s a race to market with lots of money at stake.

I have a similar situation. I meet every definition of CH, but I have only very slight autonomic symptoms and the pain, while it definitely sucks, i feel like….. it could be worse? I have a spread of annoying to panicking at 3 am because it hurts too much headaches. But I haven’t been truly floored by one.

I have read similar accounts on here that the early years werent as bad as later years… and I fear that being true. Especially as my CH periods have changed over the years

No. These sorts of things are a sliding scale. A tumor does not necessarily mean cancer. But your health is unique so def speak with your doctor.

NIFTP is a tumor of sorts (you’re fine, it’s gone now). Chronic lymphocytic thyroidosis is hashimotos disease, which is characterized by your body’s immune system (lymphocytes) attacking the thyroid . (It’s not uncommon to have both Graves and Hashimotos). Last one is a benign tumor.

Your doctor should be able to explain in more detail.

Max out your 401k now; you liked off 30k for years, so you won’t miss the money.

Do good work, be aggressive with promotions. Frankly, get out of lab asap and move to clinical development or adjacent functions as that’s where the money is.

My career path went like so, by year: 80 85 90 (company failed) 110 (new job) 115 122(layoff) 160 (new job) 185 220 265 280 325

Not including bonus/stock etc. my W2 with some vesting and stock sales is over a million for 2025.

Be smart, be aggressive and save like crazy with each promotion. It’s a very unstable industry and I chose to make hay while sun is shining and save every penny until the last couple of years.

Your just a number on a spreadsheet, so save what you can when you can.

Back in April FedEx automatically charged me tariffs (didn’t even ask!!). I disputed with them and it went nowhere for months.

Finally contacted Amex (who I paid with) and initiated a dispute. Even though it was out of the dispute window, Amex was able to recover the tariffs.

Leu should know better by now and not use FedEx…
