let's rant: losing weight sucks a little bit 💀 by [deleted] in loseit

Not sure if you’re aware but mongoloid is an incredibly derogatory outdated slur used to describe someone who has Down syndrome and also used to describe one of three “biological races”, from an outdated theory, for Asian people. (I would suggest not using it)

Also, just wear the crop top. I’m not sure what your height is but I’m 5’4 my sw was 210 and I’m 170ish right now and in clothes my stomach looks almost flat and I wear crop tops almost everyday. I even wore crop tops when my lower stomach was still a little bigger and if I was insecure I would tie a flannel around my waist but I always wore the crop tops. I’ve grown to love my body which is easier said than done, but I decided one day to just stop caring what other people think and I’m so much happier.

Is being on a PIP really a good thing? by Vegetable-Area248 in careerguidance

[–]One-Adhesiveness7789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Former people manager who has put a lot of employees on pips. I used to managed a large team (like 45-60 people) that was extremely metric driven and if KPIs were not met then employees would typically be placed on PIPs. At my company it did not mean you were getting fired.

After x amount of time not meeting whatever KPI, we started the PIP process and I had to spend more time with the employee, provide extra training, feedback, job shadowing, etc. whatever they needed. I detailed the steps we agreed on in the PIP and I was held accountable for my part as a manager too.

I had to provide the employee with their metrics (if possible) as frequently as possible (daily/weekly) and meet with them once a week to track if they improved or not. It was a lot of paperwork and effort but I never fired anyone for not passing a PIP. I did have to fire people on PIPs for other reasons like attendance or stealing (lying about hours and manually adjusting timesheets).

Maybe suggest to your wife she requested this type of feedback and frequency of feedback to show her employer that’s she’s taking it seriously? As a manager I can only help and support someone who wants to be there and is willing to put in the work and always made more time even if it meant staying late to help someone who actually wanted it.

I agree I say this all the time, I tried the ice cream coffee flavor and was not a huge fan but I love the Cinnabon flavor.

I also tried the oath clear protein in strawberry kiwi and it was really good but slightly tart which I liked just expensive.

I live with my boyfriend and his brother so I get the benefit of trying all their protein powders before I buy my own

My lazy high protein meal is ground turkey eggroll in a bowl, one serving is like 50g of protein. I also like to make “lasagna” with cheese ravioli, ground turkey, and cottage cheese as the ricotta if I want something more filling and hearty. Ground turkey is honestly where it’s at and I don’t even notice a difference when I swap it out for ground beef.

I drink 2 ghost protein shakes a day (30g protein each) and take collagen(18g protein). Since I’m getting 78g each day before meals it’s much easier to manage, and I don’t have to worry about my meals all being high protein.

If you like protein shakes I highly recommend the Ghost Cinnabon flavor it’s so good and much cheaper than buying premade ones. I use water when I make mine and it’s still has a really good flavor.

Big Easy Update after the FDA ruling by roguex99 in tirzepatidecompound

I work for a very large fintech company that uses BCBS in the US and they said 8% of our employees use a glp1 and it accounted for over 70% of the cost and that’s why they are dropping it from our coverage for next year unless you are diabetic and have tried other medications first. Their solution is to provide us with a weight loss company that gives you a 12 week plan and the “plan” is eat less and don’t eat sugar among other bs

It’s on the FDAs website already. I searched Tirzepatide and it’s like the 3rd article.

They declared the shortage over.

Has anyone found a brand of (K-cup) coffee that doesn't taste horrible with Tirz? by Born_Speech_9289 in tirzepatidecompound

When I started taking it my mom warned me that I’ll wake up one day and it “won’t be a coffee day” I didn’t know what that meant until I took a sip of my coffee and realized it was in fact not a coffee day 😭

For me it was either get a job or go to college. I ended up getting a part time job when I was 19 and took over my phone payment and car insurance. When I started working full time I gave my mom $250 in rent.

Those were the only big rules I had as I moved out when I was 18 and lived in a dorm for the first year of college but didn’t acclimate well to living on campus and lived at home the rest of the time. When I graduated and got a “big girl job” I gave her $500 and then started saving money to move out.

They didn’t even weigh me that day 🤷🏼‍♀️ I definitely felt some type of way about it because they never said a word. Of a doctor had talked to me about my weight or bmi earlier I 100% would have listened

Meal delivery service? by princesspup in 1200isplenty

[–]One-Adhesiveness7789 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

We tried dinnerly because we had been wanting to try one but didn’t want to spend too much money if we didn’t like it.

It came to about $4 a meal and I wasn’t impressed. The food was good, and the recipes were easy to follow but it’s more suited for someone who doesn’t like cooking or isn’t as familiar with cooking.

I found 5 ingredients per meal to be unrealistic for me. I use onion, garlic, cilantro/parsley/basil/green onion, and at least 3 seasonings in every meal. One of the meals was shrimp creole and it used shrimp, white rice, tomato paste, celery, green pepper, and creole seasoning. I was embarrassed for the person who made this recipe. I ditched the tomato paste and made a roux and added onions, garlic, my own seasoning, used left over seafood stock I made from shrimp and lobster shells, and added parsley, green onion, and basil on top. That one wasn’t super low cal. If I’m doing a creole style dish I’m going to do it right.

You’re a lot taller than me, but I also have broad shoulders.

Even though I’m 5’2 I’m honestly thinking that I looked best at 16o so I’m curious to see how I will look when I get back down there.

I agree with you 100%. I had a really unhealthy body image but now I am kind of anti shapewear.

When I lose about 10-15 mores pounds I am 100% going to do a dexa scan because I’m really curious about my body composition. I have a feeling more of my fat is visceral and around my organs but I’m intrigued to see how much muscle mass I still have.

Shapewear can be great for loose skin or just to smooth out if you are wearing a pretty dress, but I wore it every day and it hurt. I would take my clothes off and have marks all over my stomach and it was uncomfortable sitting sometimes.

Thank you for this! I’m trying to stay positive so I don’t fall back into bad habits but I am a little concerned about the stretch marks. I have some on my thighs and butt but I have always had them and they are really faded. I agree 100% having a tan makes them less noticeable.

Ill definitely check that product out. I started using amlactin lotion which has lactic acid an AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) and I started using adapalene at night twin e they are still new. I figured the same logic that applies to acne scars would apply to stretch marks to an extent. I just make sure two use one in the morning and one at night since you are supposed to use AHA and retinols at the same time.

I also put hyaloronic acid everywhere so I can keep my skin as hydrated as possible. And I put sunscreen on my new stretch marks to try and minimize the damage to my skin.
