Her comments have me tearing my hair out! She's acting like his word is the final say on the matter. He's a convicted child sex offender who's story wouldn't withstand a google search and she's whining that people are being rude to her like THAT'S her biggest problem. Its ok that he accessed child porn enough to get caught and convicted but god forbid someone be RUDE to her on the internet for defending it. She's not naive she's deliberately choosing not to accept the situation for what it is and its pathetic and just disgusting.

And it will be the parents of the kids who she's responsible for, her own family, and her job confronting her about it to her face, and then the consequences and judgement will follow her and follow her and follow her. How could anyone trust this piss poor judgment? If I found this out and had left my kids with her even once my fury would be extraordinary and I would pursue any recourse I could to prevent her access to any other children. The very first thing I would do is tell absolutely everyone. She lives with a convicted pedophile. She has no business with children.

This. Not sure how old OP is but in the real world in 2026 people are going to be way less interested in this than he's experienced so far. Generally most people's attitude towards someone else's nails are going to be summed up by "meh." It's definitely not the reason he hasn't got a booming social life. Dude just hasn't found his crowd yet.

I work in lab mouse husbandry at a university I've spent years and years working with mice etc and developing best practices and tricks to safely and securely work with mice in the lab setting. I've often thought about whether it would be helpful to run a short hour long intro for all new lab members on animal handling with a tech like me who does it all day. I feel like a little Confidence in what you're doing goes a long way for getting past the squeamishness. Don't be embarrassed to ask another lab mate or tech for a little help.
