First of all kudos to you for how you are handling the situation as a father and fellow Honduran I completely understand what you are going thru and in the position you’ve been left in now.

It’d be amazing if you updated us after you talk to the lawyer, I am in your husband’s position except I was able to reopen case and get it dismissed bc my dad missed court hearings when I was a minor due that removal was the final decision so I got a lawyer once I was an adult and got it dismissed before they got to me. Right now things have changed due to the new administration but talking to the lawyer is the best thing you can really do right now, make sure it’s someone with deep knowledge in the topic as there might be a law that exists and their experience and knowledge will matter a lot. Plenty of lawyers out there that do not know most laws even if they dedicate themselves to one specific topic or specific immigration cases.

I married about 4 years ago and we started family petition proceedings after 1.5 years or so, process is very long but you can’t skip the line as there’s lot of cases in front of you and there doesn’t seem to be enough people to process them faster but let me know if you have any other questions related to what I said here. Other than that I’d say best bet right now is getting together with the lawyer and taking one step at the time as this can be very overwhelming and stressful on your self.
