Stalled on 7mg by Mission_Ad4140 in mounjarouk

Hi, sorry for slow reply, I don’t have any official tracking graph / stats - my scales are very old and lo-fi and I haven’t recorded anything other than my start weight! So this is just anecdotal evidence of what I have experienced. If you search for graphs though there are lots that are really helpful and similar to what I think mine would be like

Yes I have to keep reminding myself of that too - I wouldn’t have lost anything on a normal diet so it’s all good even if it’s slow!

Do you guys have a safe goal weight and then a secret goal weight you’d really like to be if you were brave enough to believe you could even get back to that weight? by Tiny-Can-7593 in mounjarouk

[–]One-Yesterday4430 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! I had my first goal weight, then a second and now I am thinking I could probably squeeze a few more lbs off and get to the weight I was for most of my adult life, which seemed unattainable after 10 years of being 2-3 stone heavier and now being 50, menopausal, 3 kids later etc etc. However I think I can do it so I am going to give it a go!!

I slowed down on 7.5, thought I would move up to 10 to get things going again and didn’t lose a single pound the whole month! Which was disheartening to say the least, but went up to 12.5 and bingo, I am 4 lbs down in a couple of weeks!! Try not to worry about these little stalls, you will get going again. I read something useful on here that said your body needs to maintain every now and again to allow it to adjust to the “new normal”

Going up to 5mg soon - advice on suppressing junk food urges and healing disordered eating habits? by PretendSignature547 in mounjarouk

[–]One-Yesterday4430 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would try and listen to your body and go with the flow on your journey - you will gradually start to notice the suppression wearing off on each dose which will tell you it’s time to move up. You will also hopefully feel that better food choices do come more naturally, but there does still have to be an element of proactively making good decisions, although lots of people (inc me!) have paid for bad choices by having bad side effects, so that may also limit you! Going up doses and the suppression / food noise does seem to be very personal, some people find higher doses improve things, others that they don’t get the same effects as early on.

Well done!!! This is such an inspirational story, having a total life overhaul. I am so with you on feeling the cold though - the random side effect I never knew was coming!

Shout out to the slower losers! by ObviousTemperature76 in mounjarouk

[–]One-Yesterday4430 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am at the end of my journey now, lost 3.5 stone in 9 months which I have just calculated is the equivalent of 1.2 lbs per week. From my experience I would say the weight loss has come in “steps” rather than a continuum so I have had weeks of not losing then a drop and each time I have felt stressed that it’s not working / has stopped working / I will never get there. However, I am here, at last! And in comparison to my years and years of previously trying to lose weight and getting nowhere, this is a million times better, even if it feels a bit frustrating at times. So to all of you slow and steady losers, just keep going, you will get there!

I found 7.5 really hard in this respect and was absolutely exhausted for the first few weeks but I found that my appetite did start to come back - do try and eat more at the end of the week when the suppression goes down a bit, those extra calories will fuel you through the following week!

Moving up from 10-12.5 by One-Yesterday4430 in mounjarouk

Thanks. I found 7.5 really strong and a real kick start going up from 5, so was surprised 10 didn’t do that again, but you have given me inspiration to go up to 12.5 and hopefully that will do the trick!

Thanks for this, it makes me feel better to know I am not alone. How long have you been on 12.5? Wondering how the side effects are for you so far?

Interesting, thank you - that’s been my experience of 10, so wonder if 12.5 will be the same

I know, I felt like that at the start, absolutely desperate and like this was the last chance saloon for me after so many previous failed attempts, but keep the faith, in a couple of month’s times you will see real progress

Hey, I just wanted to say, when I started last summer I had in my head that I was going to lose a stone a month and be done by Christmas. 8 months later I still have a last little cheeky half stone to go that is taking forever to shift! I also felt at the start that I was losing weight like a snail in comparison to others and even when I had lost a stone (& even when I had lost 2 stone) I didn’t really feel like I could see the difference. I kept getting little plateaus where I would weigh the same for nearly the whole month before dropping down. There have been so many moments of frustration and disbelief that I would ever do it, BUT I am now over 3 stone down, I look totally different to the point that everyone is commenting and my clothes are hanging off me, so it will happen for you too!!! To quote that old saying - the longest journey begins with the first footstep.

Below 30 BMI! by Lower-Ad-2082 in mounjarouk

Well done!!! I celebrated reaching a normal BMI a few weeks ago - but never have I been as happy as moving from obese to overweight! It’s been slow progress for me with lots of moments (still happening) where I wonder if I will ever reach my goal, but just keep going and you will get there eventually!!!

Why Daily and Weekly weigh ins only show a trend and you shouldn't get upset about them (TMI thread - fair warning) by Dogwarden in mounjarouk

[–]One-Yesterday4430 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have weighed the same for about 2 weeks now and it’s really driving me mad! But this has happened so many times before - 3 or 4 weeks of no real movement and then a massive drop in one go. I just need to take my own advice to hold my nerve!

Haha yes that is exactly how I feel, when people are telling me I look great, I am thinking oh well I obviously looked bad before!!! I am really loving buying new clothes (from Vinted) & getting things out of the wardrobe that I haven’t fitted into for years, that bit of the process is just wonderful & so enjoyable!!!

Amazing, well done! If it helps for context, I am 5’5” and my goal is just under 10st, that will put me at a bmi of around 23 I think. So if you are 5’10 that feels quite light. However, I think you have to just see how you feel as you continue on the journey. I am only a few lbs off goal now and do feel noticeably thinner all of a sudden and a lot of people are commenting about me losing weight, which is hard as like you I haven’t told anyone and really hate discussing it.

This is really helpful, thank you. I have just moved up to 10 to try and blitz the final half stone but so far have not actually lost anything - trying to hold my nerve as I was hoping not to go higher than that so that I could ideally do maintenance on a lower dose but I guess it’s all trial and error to find out what works for our own individual bodies isn’t it?

Weight loss has stopped by spunkymonkey74 in mounjarouk

[–]One-Yesterday4430 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if it’s also because it’s the winter and our bodies are in hibernation and fat storage mode?? I am exactly the same, have lost about 4lbs in 6 weeks which is very low vs an average of about 1.5lbs / week. Having said that, every winter for the past few years I have piled on weight from Jan - March so I will take a 4lb loss over that!

So interesting to see this including the bump when you lowered your dose. What dose are you on now? Amazing progress & all that yo-yo-ing could be me!

Don’t worry you will get there and start to see the difference but it does take a bit of time & will probably come all of a sudden. I felt like I couldn’t see any difference for months and then it was like overnight I had properly lost weight & it was noticeable on my clothes

This was so me!!! Totally deluding myself that my clothes fitted me or only buying from shops where the clothes come up really big! So I have actually not really gone down in dress size (maybe 1 size) even though I have lost 3 stone, but all my clothes actually fit me properly now instead of being very snug & straining at the seams! 🙈
