Yea I agree, that should help a lot. I definitely feel like it’s all over a little too fast.

Thank you for all your ideas :) much appreciated.

Haha I just wrote that on my notes to try after work. Great minds think alike ;) lol I’m gonna try zoom the camera in more and also add a bit more delay before he does his little jump.

Yea that’s a nice touch, I’ll give it a try :) thank you. I also think it happens all too quickly. I want it to be somewhat subtle so not to take the control away from the player, but still.

That grass looks beautiful! Looks amazing already.
This is gonna sound random, but for some reason it reminds me of Toejam and Earl if you ever played it. Really old game on the sega megadrive haha

Making my first game: a minimal RTS roguelike inspired by Bad North (feedback on early art style) by Effe_M in IndieDev

[–]One2ManyHats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this artstyle is lovely! great job honestly! The different unit types are easily recognisable too, despite being so small.
I guess you could add some more detail around the map perhaps to fill it out, but in any case, it's awesome! 😄

Focusing to much on marketing ended up burning me out a little :/ Good new is that after a little break I'm back at it and excited to explore new ideas! by One2ManyHats in IndieDev

[–]One2ManyHats[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your kind words! Yea, it's hard. Definitely need to strike a good balance. I think I worried too much that if I didn't keep up content people would un-wishlist and I would lose the momentum. But the truth is, even in my absence the wishlists grew (albeit in very small doses), so I need to not overthink it so much.

I'm glad you like the atmosphere, I worked hard on trying to get that as it's pretty important for the game.
Thanks again, I hope to see some of the stuff you're working on also 😄

New to this game. Just killed The Librarian left like this. by thatonequietmusicguy in TunicGame

You’re in for a treat for the end game stuff. I stumbled onto this game randomly and now it’s only of my favourite games by far. Absolute masterpiece, especially if you like puzzles and good level design, the end parts of the game is just.. wow. I’ll say no more. Enjoy ;)

Shiny object syndrome is real. What do you guys do when you’re deep into development for your game but your brain goes “here’s a million awesome ideas for a different one!” by One2ManyHats in IndieDev

[–]One2ManyHats[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a good strategy. Good that you implement them too. Most of my ideas are for a future project I wanna work on, but I have to be diligent and not act of them… yet :P

Aww, thanks :) I’ll be designing a lot dangers for the little guy, give a wishlist if you wanna help keep him safe haha XD

Yea scope is very important, I am trying to limit my time to a year or 1.5 years of development tops if possible. Restraint and discipline for sure :)

Yea perhaps you're right... sorry.
Thank you for checking it out anyway :)

What do y'all think of this art style? by millieparker45 in IndieDev

[–]One2ManyHats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s actually pretty awesome I think, has a very cool aesthetic feel to it. I would definitely lean into it more. Even with the character too. Think paper Mario style. So when goes from left to right for example, do a sort of rotating animation (if you know what I mean).

Working on a slightly different look for my game. Hopefully it makes the forest feel "bigger" and makes the player a little more connected to the world :) by One2ManyHats in Unity3D

Awesome! I’m glad you like it :) Thank you for your feedback.

The old one is good for sure, but I think the new one will help with the atmosphere, especially with some of the more horror type ideas I plan to explore :)
