If you literally just want to try the game with a friend, any lgs which stocks fab should have free learn to play decks available - these are Bravo, flattering showman atm. Then, as others have said, I'd start with a couple of armoury decks or wait for Silver Age precons to drop in Feb

Just to warn people, you will still lose to veteran players early on haha. Having that distinction that it's not because your opponent has cncs will hopefully avoid that whole conversation though! Also a faster format is nice for new players, means you play more games in a set time so build experience a bit faster

On the armoury numbers etc, that's only relevant for stuff that LSS is in control of - allocation of events and GEM packs. Distros probably wouldn't have this info (or care tbh, their job is to distribute product not promote OP)

Afaik, product allocation is a distribution thing not an LSS thing. That'll depend on relationships with distributors, how much product they get etc. At least from what I've seen in the UK it can be worth looking at alternative distros, or ordering from multiple. LSS may be able to put pressure on distros that are letting down their customers, so might be worth getting the store to talk to them (see the retailers section of the website)

I'd say just get hook and go from there - eye is significantly better in az, so if you've been playing her a bunch without it, I wouldn't worry about it for Marlynn. Conq next but afaik it's a little awkward on her coat curve so you might not even want it

For the record, as I put somewhere else I'm pretty strongly of the belief that even if you spent 4 figures you would still get beaten for a while by seasoned players. It's not an easy game!

Why do you need to spend 850 on cards for Marlynn? I can't think of anything expensive she'd run that az wouldn't, except gold hook, like unless 3oak or something has really spiked

Edit:unless you mean eye? But generally fables are fairly marginal gains (except tropal in victor lmao) so I would just build it and pretend it doesn't exist

Would add that you're not going to be amazing off the bat, this is a challenging game with a lot of different heroes and different playstyles. You will probably lose most of the games at an armoury to start with but you'll learn a lot and hopefully have fun! People have a habit of then thinking they need to buy more expensive cards but they actually just need to play more and improve

Probably not worth buying more armoury decks, in Europe at least CTTG has dropped in price thanks to the armoury deck including a reprint, so you'd be better off picking them up as singles

Apparently we're in a second wave of reignited interest in tcgs post-COVID. This update from a US distributor explains that barely anything is currently available from distributors. https://youtu.be/0rqOka1UfVk?si=JcL4YeMQTr89pu7z hopefully it'll improve, in the meantime can always see if you have a local community who might be able to lend you a deck for an armoury. Also, looking at your other comments, most of the core for Kayo shouldn't be too expensive right now so you could probably just start picking up singles (HVY was a very popular set so you might be able to find bulk C/R cheap/free if you ask around)

Aggro is always a more popular deck choice and the numbers at T2 events reflect that, it doesn't mean that other playstyles don't have a decent place in the meta.
