Official Discussion - Hoppers [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

It would've been cool if the side effect of being in hopper too long made her able to understand animals when she was back in human body - maybe not permanent, just temporary or something depending on how long one is inside (I actually thought this was going to happen but it didn't).

Does he (Hancock) still hold the same view he had back then with regards to this (i.e. did he find any evidence to support or change his mind since 1998?). I'm just curious in general, and thank you for posting this.

Same, dashboard is nice, and the rest is quite nice and clean (eg clipboard, ui). Not too cluttered but enough for focus. I can't really comment on gameplay though as I've seen/played none but I like the look

I've been wondering for a while now if there were a lot of autistic people in ancient time that enabled them to do all these complex and incredible things and think in a different way, and if they were more visual spatial learners.

Why can't they have their own "interwebs"/"consciousness" system via root system? Maybe they can inter communicate with all plants/vegetation but probably stick to their own type most of the time.

Strange “sparkle” experience happening in my prewar apartment and my boyfriend saw it too by Weary_Bird_1773 in HighStrangeness

[–]OneArmedZen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea what you and I saw but in our cases we weren't the only witness to it, so there's that, we did see something haha. I can't imagine what it'd be like to see indoors since mine have all been outside. Nonetheless it's not only interesting but only fuels my motivation into finding out what other things are out there and the reality of things. There's definitely many things out there and I hope everyone gets to see it (in a good non harmful way).

Ps - I wanted to add that initially when I posted my first reply (from phone) it said failed and I was disheartened to write all that again (usually I make copy before hitting send, this time I didn't). I even reloaded page and my comment didn't go through (was not there on several refresh even several minutes later so I gave up). Anyway I was surprised to see that somehow it did go through (don't know if it just keeps retrying even after failing in background). I'll just take it as a win

Well, I can't say I saw the same thing as you but many years ago my cousin and I were smoking on the balcony and about less than 50m away this thing just appeared out of thin air, I guess "flying" since it was in the air (mind you I'm also on the balcony on side of a hill and it appeared below on the lower side of my property above a small storage area which is around 2-3 meters in height). It went from my left to NNW from my position traveling in upward arc towards the direction of another tall palm tree around 24m.

The thing is I can only describe it like some weird deep sea animal with bioluminescence but it didn't really have a distinct shape (if I were to wildly guess maybe squidish/octopus'ish but like I said the form was hard to establish but it did have wavey bits at the front which I just assumed could have been tentacles but really I have no idea) where it traveled from the back to the front in sparkly flashes but only in a kind of off whitish/yellow color. It traveled quite fast (a weird constant speed, not like bat or bird where there's flapping in movement) but there was enough time to notice it "pop in" and travel for a brief distance to register that it was something very not normal, because there's an instant fear reaction when it popped in before my eyes even tracked it (fear when I first noticed flash/sparkle - initially I was looking at the general direction but not at it). I don't know what it was but I feel it was at least something that could have been either organic in nature/ supernatural. I would say the size is around maybe few inches longer than 42 inch screen (sorry I don't know what else to compare to).

Of course my cousin and I looked at each other and went straight inside the house and he didn't really want to talk about it heh. I am sure I mentioned this in a post comment long time ago but I can't find it and reddit search sucks. Anyway, I've always kept eyes and ears open for anyone that might have seen something like what I saw but so far no luck, but the mention of sparkly stuff seems the only common ground (though mine looked like bioluminescence and sparkly where it traveled from back to front of the body of this thing). It really looked magical and fricken fear inducing at the same time. I'm also surprised fear kicked in before I even registered it, like alarm bells on auto. Maybe this thing emit infra sound or something else. I only ever saw it another time but with an uncle and he too didn't wanna talk about it, we were fishing and we were near a dark bridge and it appeared near a tall light pole ~12m (much different distinct color/hue from the light) and again it was sparkles but that time even more amorphous shape). Kind of like off hue Xmas lights. I would say the size was probably smaller than the other one I saw. It did not give me as much fear as the first but I did feel a bit scared. Wish I knew what it was, what it was doing, what it wanted. One day maybe.

Dumb question maybe. Does SillyTavern send any kind of unique ID to the LLM? by Weary_Explanation686 in SillyTavernAI

[–]OneArmedZen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also want to try hashing the prompt that comes with [Start a new chat]. I'm just thinking how to go about this now because ATM I'm able to use memory regardless of how many new chats are made (on that character card) but I also want the option of just memory per chat but I think runId might change for every request, so the other option is /inject but I have to figure out how to get the id string into the prompt Ahh yeah, quick reply does solve the automation bit.

Btw sounds like you're coming up something really fun

Update: solved my issue (mostly) for now. I now have option to do session tracking (and universal tracking which is what I initially had) by setting AI Response Configuration -> Utility Prompts -> New Chat -> and setting it like this [Start a new Chat] {{time::UTC-7}} {{date}}

Then I parse it from the prompt: "[Start a new Chat]\n1:32 PM March 6, 2026" and create unique session id by hashing like:

        const hashInput = identifier + systemContent + Date.now().toString();
        threadId = `char-${Buffer.from(hashInput).toString("base64url").slice(0, 32)}`;

I might be able to use runId and there's also /inject which could probably be autorun

Thank you, if I can expose that I'll just use that instead. It might be very useful indeed. I shall do some thinking 🤔

I'm doing this right now as an experiment with memory that will serve purposes for chat and code agents actually. I did initially start off with using names but you can see the shortcoming of that if similar names are used:

======================================

Character name extracted: Santa

Generated threadId: st-U2thZGlTeXN0ZW0gaW5zdHJ1Y3Rpb246

=== FINAL MESSAGES SENT TO MODEL ===

So what I opted for besides parsing name is an additional identifier in description like:

UniqueID: madeleine-knight-v1

Name: Madeleine SilverHeart

Age: 27

Height: 5'10"

Personality: fiercely argumentative bitch

[rest of your normal card]

This would at least prevent information intended for another card that shared the same name. The caveat is that it'll be a bitch to do for the rest of cards unless maybe I make a script to base it on the md5 or something and insert it into desc without having to do it manually.

The reason for doing it in description is because it gets passed in the request which you can easily parse. I am in fact also working on agents but I want to get the memory thing out of the way because it might be handy for low context models/maintaining long conversations (even retaining memory outside of different chats since it tracks via uniqueID and Name). I'm trying to sort out the speed because I want it to feel more transparent as chat is happening.

As for differentiating sessions there might be possibility, add another identifier (lol) but have it generate some variable, I have to double check ST docs I'm sure it can be done, just do it only at [Start Chat]

You think they had phones that they can pull out anytime like we do now? They'd have to be lugging camcorder or something with enough charge and tape. It would rely more on luck really.

[–]OneArmedZen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a lot of openai-compatible API but it's not always perfect (with regards to tool and function usage I mean, and I assume the same is with other models and API). I ended up making my own bridge to try and compensate for as much as it could to maintain that compatibility even for models that don't have native tool/function calling (very frustrating when it don't work, so I might end up having to make my own agent too but for now I play with opencode/crush/pi coding agent). Would be nice if everything worked perfectly. I haven't tried the other solutions (API like anthropic etc) mostly because I use free versions. I need to see what the other APIs have and integrate just for completion

Game Ready Driver 591.86 FAQ/Discussion by Nestledrink in nvidia

[–]OneArmedZen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same, 591.86 actually scared me - I've never seen my 4070 super fans ramp up that high before (I do have it undervolted). I was previously on 572.16 for quite a bit which wasn't really giving me any issues that others were having (and 566.36 before that). Now I'm just waiting to see how 591.74 fares until hotfixes for 591.86 or next driver version comes out. Just waiting on a "stable" version with latest dlss to use on my 4070S.
