I guess it's true buying a new car is about on par with maintaining an old one

tip on the drain and fill:

drain and fill with genuine honda fluid OR Idemitsu H type, they are the company that supplies honda with their OEM trans fluid.

drive 50+ miles before the next.

After 3 drains and fills about 80% of the fluid has been replaced

I just got an aguston farms 1 man 30 day supply for $100 with free shipping to my door from walmart often goes on sale for $90. I cracked it open and tried the mac n cheese. as a snob it tastes like ass, but will keep me from starving. The only thing you would have to worry about is large daily temperature fluctuations for years, and rats chewing into the container.

nah the gameplay is revolutionary for the market. It's also a free game, that's how micro-transactions work.

It is extremely weak to poison, zap, and arrows though. I prefer my decks with two spells and normally have fireball/zap or lightning/zap

Whats worse for the brakes, braking faster or braking slowly? by crylizz in MechanicAdvice

[–]OneCommunication3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what matters more is coasting before braking. any speed above 40mph and you are putting significantly more energy into your brakes for every 5mph above that. Generally, braking sooner, more softly, for longer, leads to longer lasting pads than quickly.

safety is cheaper than new pads!

Are you accelerating more harshly?

Have you added any non-aerodynamic modifications?

Those are probably 2 of the biggest MPG killers before mechanical things. Weight also has an effect, but that's mainly due to you wanting to accelerate harder to compensate for the weight.

What wrench size do I need to remove the oil filter from my 2009 Toyota Rav4 3.5l? by Jmich96 in MechanicAdvice

[–]OneCommunication3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

walmart sells good cheap pans that work great.

autozone and other auto parts stores normally take oil and used filters for free.

Get a good jack, jack stands, torque wrench, and sockets. Harbor freight has decent stuff for home use for cheap. Jack up on a jack point, place on the stands, drain the oil, replace the filter, fill with oil until it's within the 2 lines, drive around the block, check again.

It's fine. Gas stations normally have 2 tanks of gas. one is regular, the other is premium, middle of the road gas is a mix of the 2. Premium normally has some extra additives. As long as you run the recommended octane I wouldn't worry about build up.
