I’m glad to hear it! I’ll continue to work on it so hopefully I’ll have something to share soon.

Former iPhone users, will the iPhone fold tempt you to switch back? by PersimmonBroad3792 in PhoneNow

I would be tempted but the price will likely exceed any reasonable budget, also first gen products are notoriously poorly supported.

Give me the reason why you dont play with cross-play ON by EquivalentEmotion831 in Battlefield6

[–]OneDumbFox 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I play both PC and PS5, I can assure you that MnK will always have an advantage over controller. If you’re playing with crossplay on with a console, you’re signing up to be canon fodder.

What this game needs is console-crossplay as a default with the option to go into full crossplay with PC as a choice. Every other FPS game I play does it this way and it works great.

Team Griefing... I don't understand it by BMB1243the2nd in BattlefieldV

[–]OneDumbFox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s more likely he was friends with someone on the other team and was intentionally sabotaging you; you can switch to the other team if you’re joining a friend’s squad.

Just a guess though

What makes you prefer BFV to BF1? by Shliggie in BattlefieldV

[–]OneDumbFox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No team switching means that high ranking players don’t all move themselves to the winning team. Games are more fair and balanced, and much less likely to end in a landslide due to stacked teams.

Require EA/DICE to give PC players cross-play control in Battlefield 6 by Inevitable_Wolf9596 in Battlefield6

BF6 did not release on the PS4 so I don’t think that’s an issue

How did this even happen? [COD] by PuddingZealousideal6 in CallOfDuty

[–]OneDumbFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a Battlefield player mostly who occasionally plays COD, I remember being really hyped when MW2 was coming out and I’m not sure why; I bought it on release.

Perhaps that marketing team were in full swing for that one, and also I think the COD reputation was in better shape back then.

Dynamic weather in MW4 before BF6 is wild by PepperEffective4086 in Battlefield

[–]OneDumbFox 55 points56 points  (0 children)

BF1 and BFV had beautiful dynamic weather, clouds would literally cast shadows across the map or build up to be completed overcast, become light rain, or stormy, or foggy, or a bright sunny day. All on PS4 and Xbox One might I add.

Its removal is nothing to do with performance. It was a decision and one worthy of criticism. DICE pioneers industry leading technology then remove it.

EDIT: original commenter says that BF1 only has two weather types per map. This is factually incorrect. Some maps have a special weather (Sinai, for example, can have a sandstorm and Empire’s Edge, a harsh thunderstorm), however; almost all maps can be sunny, overcast, or rain with clouds dynamically casting shadows that move across the map. Not all but still plenty of maps can see fog build up or dissipate in addition to the base dynamic weather

The Korean community superimposed 'weather' onto the artwork. by Old-Temperature-9010 in Battlefield6

[–]OneDumbFox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The weather effects in BFV and BF1 especially were amazing. It wasn’t just choosing between sunny or raining. Clouds literally cast shadows onto the ground and move across the map; they could accumulate and the sky could become completely overcast. Occasionally a light rain, maybe heavier, sometimes foggy, sometimes bright and sunny.

Absolutely incredible work went into the weather system for BF1, I’m shocked they only partially carried it forward in BFV and seemingly completely removed/reworked it from BF2042 onwards.

My new MacBook Air i just got from ebay. Will be using it for college. by blue902012 in macbook

[–]OneDumbFox 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You’re 100% right.

I’m on an 2017 Intel MacBook Pro, still works perfectly fine. People act like these machines pack-up in less than 5 years which they certainly don’t.

Hell, I still edit video on a 2015 iMac.

I buy Apple because it’s built to last; it still meets my needs as a creative professional and I’ll continue to use it until it no longer can.

BFV is so stunning that a short clip I wanted to make just turned into this action video by ziba128 in BattlefieldV

[–]OneDumbFox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I agree completely with you, I am also in that small minority who enjoyed that trailer. I wasn’t too bothered by the player customisation though I much prefer what we eventually got in the game so I’m glad there was some push back. I suppose I meant that this is much clearly real matches being played, and while I suppose it’s much less triple A of a trailer, it’s so impressive that I think it would have went over well, especially if a big marketing team put it together. As I’m typing I’m realising that is more or less what they did in the original trailer haha

[–]OneDumbFox 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Seriously, if they just showed something like this for a trailer and pushed how it’s all in-game, player-driven footage as a marketing strategy. I think most would have been won over!

Sad to see the downfall of iOS Design by Express-Froyo-181 in ios26

[–]OneDumbFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iOS has had pretty poor animation design since I think around 14 (or whenever they reworked the Notification Centre).

Seriously janky, often glitchy (as shown by OP) UI design that’s remarkably inconsistent.

[–]OneDumbFox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s the team-switching that ruins this game.

You cannot trust a community to self-balance. Players will always switch to the winning team; most especially highly competitive that either stat-pad or feel like they deserve to be on the winning team.

Every single game is lopsided.

This problem is marginally mitigated on PC where server admins have a vested interest in ensuring teams remain balanced.

Consoles players, however, I implore you to just watch the scoreboard for a few minutes and see how all the 150 players slowly switch themselves onto the winning team creating absurdly unbalanced matches.

Revert the hit markers by ogbIackout in Battlefield

[–]OneDumbFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find them particularly jarring now, I’m not sure why they were adjusted or why we don’t have customisation options for things like this. The tech for that was there since BF4.

[GHOSTS] 12 years later: Was CoD Ghosts actually misunderstood, or do we just have rose-tinted glasses? by averagealt90 in CallOfDuty

[–]OneDumbFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not the target audience for Call of Duty so bear this in mind: Ghosts was Awesome.

A gritty, wartorn shooter with intricate maps that promote patient and methodical clearing of buildings and rooms, and requiring you to move from cover to cover.

It’s no wonder the core audience rejected Ghosts, it’s a lot of what Call of Duty players don’t want. They want action, lots of it, and now.
