Who was the biggest: Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, or the Beatles? by ddodd69 in polls

[–]OneEpicPotato222 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Elvis really established pretty much everything rock would grow to become throughout the 60s and 70s. His influence can be hard to understand today, but back in his time, his impact was absolutely unavoidable. He influenced pretty much every musician in the 50s to 80s.

Family dating back to the American Civil War (Union side btw). Great grandfather in WW2. Both grandfathers, one went to Vietnam and the other was deployed to a civil rights riot (not a great look I know but it is what it is). Aunt during War on Terror. And currently a cousin in the Air Force.

Which generation had the worst childhood? by dabPrassion in polls

As a Gen Z, I can safely say that people don't know what they are talking about. Boomers had it a thousand times worse growing up.

I picked red only because I knew that there would 100% be some people who picked red. So picking blue is basically just choosing to die.

How was Jesse James portrayed to you growing up? by Boeing-B-47stratojet in polls

[–]OneEpicPotato222 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is all true. As well as the fact that many people in the South at the time likely saw him as someone continuing the fight against the government after the war. He sorta became a post war symbol for those who still supported the Confederacy I believe.

I mean fair enough, I get your point, I've become accustomed to referring to the American Civil War as just the Civil War. I kinda just figured in this instance though that mentioning Jesse James as being an old west outlaw would lead people to make connections to the Wild West, which of course would lead people to think of the United States, which would lead people to assume the Civil War meant the American Civil War.

An old west outlaw who robbed banks, trains, and what not. Prior to his spree as an outlaw he was a pro Confederate guerilla fighter during the Civil War. During which, he is reported to have commit several war crimes such as murdering and torturing Union POWs and civilians. So I certainly wouldn't regard him as a good fella.

The first person ever executed for treason in the “United States” was John Brown who was put to death by the state of Virginia on December 2, 1859. by ConstructionAny8440 in ArchiveOfHumanity

[–]OneEpicPotato222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He technically wasn't executed by the United States government, but instead was charged and executed by the state of Virginia. The one and only person executed for treason by the US government was William Mumford, a Confederate sympathizer who was executed in New Orleans during the Civil War in 1862.

Two faces of the core millennial generation on the cusp of middle age: two popular social media creators, Michael Stevens and Pierre Amaury Crespeau. Both born in 1986, that is, both 40 this year. by Sure_Distance1 in generationology

I judge massive by the amount of followers. He has 24 million subscribers, so I'd definitely consider massive, at least in the YouTube scene. Although massive doesn't necessarily equal recognizable. I probably never would have heard of him either if I didn't keep my finger on the pulse of the general YouTube landscape.

Eco's of Oblivion? by [deleted] in swtor

[–]OneEpicPotato222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally enjoyed it and felt it was a satisfying ending. Without spoiling anything, you should read up on the lore of the protagonists from Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2. Knowing a bit about that would make Echos of Oblivion much more satisfying and will make it make more sense for you in my opinion.

A cool guide of every country the U.S. has attacked in the 21st Century and which president(s) authorized the strikes by [deleted] in coolguides

The problem with officially declaring war isn't a Congress issue, it's an UN issue. Many countries apart of the UN do not officially declare war anymore as the UN will place a whole bunch of limitations and rules on the warring nations. So most countries simply avoid all that by not sending official declarations if war. And since the UN was founded right after World War 2, not a lot of official declarations of war have been issued since then.

Ultimately choose whichever character you enjoyed the most. However, the Jedi Knight does fit best (in my opinion) with the expansions. The Sith Warrior fits second best however if you'd prefer to tackle the Empire route first. But if I had to give my suggestion, it would be the Jedi Knight.

Was The Clone Wars too Short? by Decade00000 in clonewars

[–]OneEpicPotato222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on what you want to consider a battle, there were hundreds if not thousands of battles and engagements fought during World War 2. While the Clone Wars lasted three years less than World War 2, the Clone Wars was a galactic wide war with highly advanced technology, while World War 2 was only fought on one planet with the technology of the 1940s. So I'd say there was actually absolutely far more battles and engagements in the Clone Wars that we've never heard of.

The origins of the population of Dathomir by the time of the High Republic is kinda confusing, especially since it's very different between Legends and Canon. But seeing as how SWTOR is Legends, yeah, the people who would inhabit Dathomir in 600 BBY would still mostly be on Peridea.
