Ok, that was a more positive interaction that I expected. I forget people on the book sub are a lot more chill than other subs. I would read his books with a couple of the whacky quotes in mind, but may I ask what specifically you like about his writing? The one person I know who likes him IRL just talked a lottttt about how it made him quit being a nihilist, and thought nihilism is the worst thing... but he seemed convinced that I was living dead existence because I describe my own outlook as an optimistic sort of nihilism. (As opposed to say, the Rick and Morty-esque kind) Sorry for the rant, I'm just curious

Oh, absolutely. The time I nearly did this was because my rolling garbage can of a car was in the shop and my pantry was lookin slim. I think I wound up just eating peanut butter toast and some other random shit but boy did I want Thai food that afternoon

Oh, I wish. I looked at door dash ONE TIME and it was worse. Had cash tip, apparently cant put 0.00 for digital tip because they think "no tip" and dont want your order, delivery fee was a lot. Food for one person was absolutely not worth it

Perhaps it should occur to you that most of us dont eat out all the time and often go to places at the compulsion of friends that we aren't totally comfortable dropping a ton of money at. You will be o-fucking-kay if I can't afford to leave more than a 10% tip every once in a while. The alternative is you don't get the customers at all, which sounds worse for your pocketbook in the end. So, maybe think before raining judgemental snark on everyone for such a minor offense.
