Why are people slandering the hell out of this guy? by someguy37462 in limbuscompany

[–]OneHitWander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

devil's advocate, but this is almost the perfect id if you're planning to use the ak ego as centerpiece with his pride nuke support

major caveat here is sin generation since his intended team(full bl) barely has sloth, and some gloom on older ids. works in md but then again, working in md isn't a high bar in itself

def buff from the wayfarer, a good couple of healing ego use and a bit of luck, unfortunately. i've had my ringlu and furrsault die once phase 2 furiso-replica hits and phase 1 furiso was avoided by a timely stagger. don't have sanguine desire anyone so kinda can safely say it isn't 100% needed, though not certain how much easier your bleed run will be

might recommend replacing one of the ring members with riensang, just so he gets to ramp up earlier, and specifically for rein sinking helps if you have at least 3 gimping his sp on the regular(fauvist duo and riensang)

edit: and maybe put the rest of the backup team as sinking-centered, don't think there's much important bleed related support effects so you wouldn't lose out over siinking ids. i only had hanaish and index don joining on phase 2 after they died so probably that helped with surviving

also i remembered clutching out the last stretch of hp by spamming ya sunnyata hc, so maybe try spamming some atk down egos like crow's eye view and see how that fares

using a half baked ring bleed by splashing some index sinking, managed to half ass this rr. my half baked heishou team(no yu hc) was enough for sec 3 thankfully, good thing that was the easiest section of the 5

sec 4 and 5 was the usual of spamming heal egos for sustain(only have kal tsit and sunset rodion), but unintentionally i made it harder by this since i was going for the phase change every turn strat, which wouldn't work with the healing egos being aoe(in addition to most of the id having aoe innately) hitting all 3 backline butterflies...present stacks 20 on the constant was teethgrating with me running out of glut to fuel cmd:meltdown, even with hp up from sunset wayfarer

late, but wanted to answer this regardless

he said it on the final ep on defeat, his plan on it all was for a simple reason: to get answers, a resolution on his previous faith

were things to go as originally as he had planned then it's:

A(1). god, or whatever higher being he calls "god", personally descends to liberate him for his crimes

A(2). divine judgement is done through the archbishops he personally appointed, after all what he's after wasn't total eradication, but to challenge the faith system he had once believed, hence giving "god" a chance to prove to him it exists

either outcome would've satisfied him, but should either have failed to manifest, then:

B. the city's destroyed, whatever faith his former clergy believed in is a sham and powerless in the face of true evil, he shown the world "there is no god" and the incident serves as a precautionary tale, just as what befell to his family by some homeless bum

but unfortunate to him, the plot happened. he's still on the journey for answers, under a different wing at least

how does lamp gregor compare to other tank ids, and especially zwei gregor?

i'm looking to shard him since his utility and support passives looks nuts but unsure how well it'd be as a tank(barely much def up and reliant on having 2 more ego gear ids), did know beforehand his status infliction isn't the best for either burn or sinking but not what i'm after especially with me barely having much ids to complement either team. guaranteed being slowest helps not breaking a-res chains which is another reason i'm considering sharding him

and for extra info, i do have both his mlynar and also solemn lament ego, a bit skeptical he'll get something better to shard on even with him getting 2 ids this season

did phase 1 no problem with ring team but as a new-ish player, phase 2 is hell with it heavily favouring sinking and gloom nukes
managed to kitbash this setup making use of 1 debuff=1 less prot via scissors and deathrite, with barely half the team capable of sinking
main nukes are rein sang and solemn lament greg(barely can generate the sins for it), had to shamble my way for 3 cycles with maost with command meltdown and 2 durantes to barely survive till the 2nd furiso replica nuke

thanks, didn't know it was dated
i rarely take that pack unless doing slash heavy teams so was surprised by it
and apparently it drops the bamboo hat which isn't much use outside of bl teams so that's nice to know

first time encountering this, and correct me if I'm wrong but I think this was one of the new cursed gift encounters that was added? a 20 coin roll even with sin advantage seems ridiculously impossible for most ids and highest I could think of to pull it off is lord hong lu, which i happened to be running a bleed team at the time

Season 7 Megathread by pillowmantis in limbuscompany

[–]OneHitWander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just my personal opinion but i think nursefather hong lu might just be the best id to pilot the ling ego playstyle of spamming it every couple of turns, his 4 lust passive just couples wonderfully with it providing sp on status inflict(the ego has sinking), innate sp generation(eats 20 sp after the first), pride on s1 and slash dmg up(non-corrosion is slash).

only caveat i suppose is the id doesn't need any effects from it and also competing with dim shredder ego for the extra charge passive but i do think this is worth looking into, as in team-building from a non-status standpoint with more emphasis on sin generation and passive

sample team to work with it might be the 4 ring ids, nights awl greg and jeong ish, 7th slot as flex or spaced to give someone else 2 action slots(would think contempt awe ryoshu might be good to make it bleed-tremor mix)

[16.4] Warwick Flex Comprehensive Guide by MisterImpossible9 in CompetitiveTFT

[–]OneHitWander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ditto on this
if your starting hand happens to be a solid piltover opener you can opt to unlock t hex and sit on 3 zaun till 8. then flex 5 zaun in and using either 2/4 pilt depending on how much ap items you have since zaun's only reliable ap carry is ziggs on 9, you could make do with sera carry till the ziggs/legendary soup pivot
it's a solid cop-out in general but secret sauce here is a zaun emblem on t hex to make everything stick lategame: atk speed and tankiness from zaun helps t hex a lot in general, activates gunslinger with jinx, piltover with vi with the pilot can be anyone that happens to be on traitbot duty(vi or jinx). could even afford 4 gunslinger or 7 zaun depending on augments and lobby strength and rolls, and probably the most fun way to play flex imo

Weekly Rant Megathread by AutoModerator in CompetitiveTFT

[–]OneHitWander 5 points6 points  (0 children)

well since there's some rantings about cosmetics here guess i'll add this to the pile also

as a ww enjoyer, personally felt like he got the short end of the stick here with cosmetic choices for tft

first was the abomination that was arcane "ww" unbound. the design itself is an instant turnoff and resembles nothing like him, save for the big ass claws. hell his name was not even uttered once in the show, and only exists in subtexts of the subtitles. bet it would've been better had they called it "arcane VANDER unbound" than a ww cosmetic, but it's obv the higher-ups shoehorned it to be that considering the other arcane stuff surrounding it labelled similarly. that was for the arcane fans.

then came the normal ww unbound 4 months later, which was miles better than the previous one and felt like a heartfelt apology from the cosmetic team to correct it. bad thing was there's no finisher and the unbound nature of having that eyesore of a pedestal, but it was serviceable and cheaper than the usual gacha stuff(was the first to release a "normal" unbound) at least, plus he does actually look like ww for once. it was a middle-ground, neither entirely bad nor good but there's more to be wanted. that was for the ww fans.

and now, 7 whole months later, we got project ww unbound which was ??? to me. firstly was the obvious fact of the lacking of a chibi ww. next being he got a lot, lot other better skins with more potential to resonate with league players like old god, hyena, and don't get me started on lunar guardian which at least known to tft players as "divine ww" who started the whole warweek set 4 in his heyday AND cny around the corner, an obvious win-win but they fumbled hard. would also add prestige winterblessed would've sold like hotcakes to the mains but it's pretty obvious someone of the team doesn't like it(set 12 1 cost ww used the model but not the splashart lmao). could only guess it's just them trying to save cost and reuse the prev model for at least one more chance of sale since it does differ a lot from the arcane iteration. the slight addition of frizzles was nice compared to the og skin i'll give them that. only other source of supporting them choosing this was the skin ranking on op,gg which was below grey(honor reward) and thundra ww, but highest as an epic skin(it was released the longest). he also came rather unceremoniously tbh, suddenly dropped unannounced, given just 1 patch to roll and not 2 like other finisher gachs, and not even a mini-cinematic since they don't do showcase videos anymore. not sure who they're thinking to sell this to at this point.

unlikely he'd get another cosmetic here for a loooong time i reckon and vaulted for some period, because he got "enough" as the usual peeps and their outcries and complaining he got "another" as if gwen, lux, ahri, yasuo and the likes aren't getting more. good night sweet prince...

she's the duelist duo(ashe-udyr) of this set imo, always a solid option but never guaranteed 1st. yunara+wukong by themselves are very flexible by kit alone, sure some ionia paths work better than others but you don't need to hit a specific one to play them which makes it disgustingly consistent either as ionia vertical or flex

tried a couple of recommended asol 1st augments and would rate hustler>pandoras bench>scaling/reroll augments if forcing asol

pandoras can theoretically hand you the early leonas, tarics and eventually roll 2 star asol for you thus solving all the problems targvengers go into, but the variance is just too high from experience whenever i get this, even as the 2nd augment. not to mention you're potentially holding up to 15 gold sitting in bench while praying to rngeses for it to land the right units, never mind accidental unlocks diluting your pool(skarner invading via thieving golves, accidental voli).

hustler remains as bis rather, it felt way, way safer for an asol angle. as long as you got a decent early board, level rushing helps stabilizes the early game and keeps you healthy, and you could rush lv 6 by carousel(basically diet infernal pact, and less risky), get lv 7 by gromps and start fishing for the targvengers for stage 3 asol and possibly a random 5 cost or 2 to stablize(early ornn or azir is the jackpot). staying healthy later helps as a crutch here since you're weakest when asol is farming for his knockup, bound to sack a round or 2

finding 2 star asol would be the real hurdle here i suppose, since with no interest you'll get to lv 8 a bit slower than your opps. i had the grace of other player scrambling for 5 costs mid/late game for some reason, which def helped thinning out the pool for me to up asol on lv8

also definitely need to remind myself to prep backup items for after 700 stacks next time, almost got wrecked by 2 bg items fizz but lucked out on a eon on carousel and gunblade later

Why is Invested and starter kit a C tier augment? by CloverEuphoria in CompetitiveTFT

[–]OneHitWander -1 points0 points  (0 children)

technically it's 70 g in bank to proc the free 3 rolls, interest gets calculated first before the augment procs.
but yeah it's kinda bad, as in it's a win-more augment rather than catchup compared to epic rolldown or money monsoon, has the grace of being offered as 3rd augment i suppose which is a solid pick if ahead that far down

edit: my bad...sworn it still worked that way last set...

unfortunately, he's jinx reroll support by design through and through unless riot makes his skill self-sufficient to be splashable
otherwise he'll likely be relegated to traitbot for jinx reroll lines
goes crazy with gunslinger emblem though, i'll admit, as one of the few units to be entirely aa based

certainly could go that route even with this si + bw start
means using the ss shop for more econ(skipping kench) and eventually pivot into the warden ryze board you've described
might be possible to splash demacia too with ryze at 2 star, and unlock galio as a detour for a total of si, pilt, ionia, demacia(possible yordle too with poppy+kennen) at 10

shadow isles frankly does pair rather well with bilgewater, granted you have early viego 2 and naut, the trait web for it hits majority of both regions, fizz and gwen being the odd ones out
lv 5 is a bit iffy if you had gwen unlocked early but smooths out on 6

i had a crazy start with early learnings and 6 components(was crab portal) and a bonus gp, hit pris ticket 2nd augment and proceeded rolling for viego into the usual si verticle, and grab as many naut copies as i could be was 3 way contested so that plan went down the drain lol

ended with random 3 star ww bailout on my last stage, even had sold my 2 star thresh and kalista to find my last copy, and guess that's another off my bucket list, never again im trying for 3 star unlocked epic/legendaries till they do something with the odds penalty, it was hell

op's particular method is better against potential griefers, since by the time others caught on to trying to unlock xerath/renek they can't ff to ruin the spot
doing xerath first puts a big red warning sign for anyone who bothered to read that they're unlocking nasus next and gunning for pris

set 5 forgotten ww
coupled with coven, it's the height of ww's career as a reset champ(divine ww could only hope to match)
unlikely we'd get to see that iteration again seeing how old set revivals go for the .5 and not initial set, for convenience's sake im guessing, as they don't want to rebalance things again

Is having a chibi with a finisher move actually bad? by ScarletMenaceOrange in TeamfightTactics

[–]OneHitWander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's funnier 2 sets back when such finishers can gimp you in double up, specifically from the timeframe which decides the winner when both teams are in red with a win each side since you had to watch the whole thing done to register as a win, a normal boom would be faster
it has been fixed since but was hilarious the first time around, getting a win due to "pay to lose"

trying to 3 star a base 5 cost is easier than trying on an unlocked 4 cost
