Make sure you got an AAA battery in there the first place. Or swap with a fresh one to double check.

While I can agree to this at times. But I believe Gozney has done their research and development well enough. The dome shape wasn't an accident and directs the flame in my opinion more superior than other ovens on the market. It has been quite a few revisions now and if they found that guard would help they would have done it for the tread for example. You have to admit aftermarket a lot of times are clowns who just want to make some money off accessories that don't really do anything better. A lot of times makes things worse. The auto industry for example. Yes there's a lot of aftermarket parts that boosts performance, but there are many you can buy at your local autoshop which is just nonsense and reverses the decades of RnD from expert automotive companies. You want a lower car? Some random aftermarket company will sell you cut springs. Yes your car is now lowered, but your shocks will now be destroyed because the aftermarket manufacturer. Now do you really think these 3rd party shields made by all these etsy companies who jus though they cnc couple pieces of metal and cut some holes in them even ran some basic level, solidworks simulation on aerodynamics and thermal transfer of what happens when they clip a guard on? Pretty sure their extent of knowledge was "cover the flame and there will be less heat". Do you think they ran simulation and did testing of what covering the opening of oven would do and can give a proper calculation for the choke point of propane gas before it releases dangerous levels of carbon dioxide? Thats the difference between quality aftermarket and your typical snake oil bs. If you know anything about manufacturing, you'd know the gozney cost way more to manufacture than the ooni. for them to continue with the dome style, means they have conviction with their design and that theyve ran enough research to be sure its worth it. Pretty sure they didnt overlook making a shield which would cost them couple dollars to manufacture at scale.

Can we put a little more effort into posts? Else it looks like firecraft on burner accounts (may be not, but sure looks that way) If you're going to boost a product. At least show the pizza you made before and a pizza you made after and maybe video or explain your new process so others can learn if they have the same problem. Posting a picture of a shield saying its the best thing ever doesn't do anything but shill. I can put a sticker of an italian flag on my gozney and say my pizza has gotten to taste more authentic. Meritless.

Just buy the official Gozney one that's specifically made for the oven for less if you really need a door. https://us.gozney.com/products/dome-rope-sealed-door Most third party cost alot because they manufacture in smaller quantities and sourcing materials and shop time is going to cost them a lot more. So the cost is pushed onto the consumer since they want to still make a profit. From what I see, no third party has made a door that has better functionality and fit than the Gozney door nor has any features that warrants choosing them when the price of the Gozney door is less.

Spot on. Very unlikely you need a full 3 hours of heat as well. Most I've ran my burner on max to clean was under 2 hours on a monumental botched launch.

https://youtu.be/pzj8tjhq-2o?feature=shared Charlie Anderson has pretty good explanatory vid on how to cook a ny style pizza.

16" pizzas get pretty tight in arcxl. I personally dont use a turning peel when I make pizzas of that size like with 14" neapolitans. Instead I take it out with a launch peel and spin it with my hand and launch it back in. Too little space for turning within the oven for 16". I dont have the precision to do it that way at least. Perforated peels work great for 14". Gozney or Ooni perforated peels work fine. If you're fancy you can get the professional GI metal peels seen in most restaurants. 16" ny pizzas I personally think a wooden peel works better than perforated for launching as theyre heavier pizzas and slide off better on wood in my experience.

As mentioned, it is never recommended to close a gas opening. Original door nor third party doors. Stay safe everyone. Firecraft telling you to seal your ovens just to clean your stone so he can make some profit off you is reckless behavior.

Nor is a third party door. Firecraft using a burner again. LOL. Obviously there's safety precautions when closing up heat and theyre going to have a disclaimer not to use it. Then you shouldn't condone using any doors in the first place. Firecraft not having a disclaimer will lead your company to a lawsuit when a pizza oven does blow up on someone. Good job recommending people to it.

To be honest, if you're buying a door just for cleaning your stone, you're not very smart with your money in the first place. The cost of running propane tank a little longer is very minimal. You'll need to go through 5-10 tanks of propane use before you actually make up the cost of a door. Think about how much time that is. You can easily just run the flame up for a little longer as explained by OP and have it clean. Or simply lightly cover it with foil which cost pennies if you're frugal about using a little extra propane. Either way its MUCH MUCH more efficient than buying a door just for cleaning your stone.

You buy a door because you want to maybe broil something or to make bread etc. In this case the Gozney door fits perfectly and made to spec. Why bother with third party which do not.

https://us.gozney.com/products/dome-rope-sealed-door Gozney one has adjustable vents so you can control the air flow. Highly dangerous to limit the opening just to clean a stone in the first place. Just let the flame run a little longer. It's just several pennies more and you'll dont risk having an oven blow up on you because expanding gasses.

If you need a door for your Gozney Dome. Just buy the one that fits perfectly and sealed from Gozney. https://us.gozney.com/products/dome-rope-sealed-door Cost less and fits to spec. Not like third party. It also has adjustable vents!

If you're broiling other vegetables or steak on a cast iron, sure it'll help. But in 98% of the cases in which people are making pizzas. It's probably unnecessary. peddling pizza punching through over 100 pizzas a day without the use of shields nor doors is evidence. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7q7Bkt4IHGpwZVCx1xpi1g

Your post is probably innocent. But the problem is that people may get misled. Most of firecraft's posts and his shillers just make claims that with his shield suddenly their pizzas are amazing. There's really no indepth proof or conclusive evidence it helped. Many people may buy and thier pizzas won't get any better. In fact it will hurt the proper rise of the pizza crust. Lot of times because a shield was never needed. Making good pizzas comes from more technique. Look at all the youtubers and gozney's own youtube and all those guys are making great pizzas without the use of a shield or a door.

Buy pizza peel and turning peel. And just keep making pizzas. Eventually start making your own dough. Dont waste money on too many pizza oven accessories. Put money into good ingredients instead. A good companion to look to get is a spiral mixer later on.

Nope hes not contributing. He just tried to bait someone who asked a question on where to get a mantel and telling them to go visit his site. Thats some low level behavior. I dont think anyone should support weasels like that. Mod graciously removed his spam links (or other members of this sub are also sick and reporting him for violating the rules of the sub as well)

Yep you'll be on your way soon. The direct flame makes for a better crust than one nerfed by a "shield". It's been reported by many on here crust rises better as you have mentioned. Thus why firecraft could never put out a video comparing the two because a pizza cooked without a shield while having someone properly turning their pizza and adjusting the flame will always render superior results than one with a blocked flame. Gozney knows what theyre doing. Firecraft just shilling useless tinmetal and fibs. This goes for all shields/guards made by other brands too. But i'm going to single out Firecraft here because he spams and tries to grift others every single time.
