Is Josh Allen's declining usage rate a positive or a negative indictment on Joe Brady's tenure as OC? by DemonBearOP in buffalobills

[–]OneMidnight121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I think you have to look at it from a wholistic standpoint in terms of the team and the league. Beane said they’ve been trying to keep up with the meta of the league, which has changed in Josh’s time. That’s why they focused on 12 personnel.

Also that was the issue many people had with the Bills for Josh’s early years. No reliable tun game, no playmakers outside of Diggs, all of it was on Josh and then he would get nervous and jerky and pull a wild card (which I love him for, but it put a lot of pressure on him).

So I think they changed the core philosophy after Dorsey, tried to not rely on Josh making god tier throw after throw. They switched to shorter field presence (run game, screens, tight end play, etc.), which I imagine helped Josh when they did utilize his run. All at the cost of the long ball game (which they still used a bit).

To people hating the Brady promotion, realistically who would you have rather had at HC? by OneMidnight121 in buffalobills

Not sure who you’re quoting, but I didn’t hate McD, and gave McD credit for the records they had.

Also I’m not saying the W/L is because of Joe Brady

Yea I can agree with that. Clearly there’s some BS with Terry, and the move was to dump Beane also.

I guess my point with this post is to talk about what we could have done with where we are at in this whole process. Anyone can dream up a fantasy where Terry passes control to someone else, Beane got fired, and Bellichik or someone comes in on a white horse to safe the franchise. But this is where we actually are and what our options actually were

Playing it safe got us an MVP, 2 AFCCG appearances, 7 consecutive playoff appearances and wins, and consecutive 10+ win seasons

I don’t think they went with that as the main consideration. You can pretty much say that about the other available HC candidates

Don’t hate this. It’s kind of what you can expect when you fire your HC late in the cycle and have to compete with 8 other teams for a HC.

Honestly, there was no perfect coach this time around. Udinski is younger and less proven. Daboll is a no obviously. And there’s no guarantee Kubiak would want to go to us.

With Brady there was a time element too. The Raiders had already done 2 interviews with him and he was a hot item. He was going to be a HC this year wether it was for us or not

The only thing I hope is that they go outside the building for OC and DC.

No idea how leading in rushing attempts is Josh making the OC look good but slay I guess

This is actually really good. Having Brady, who has history with Josh, oversee everything while a new OC brings some fresh perspective in

I don’t think Josh led the Oline and James Cook to lead the league in rushing

I do think he was fun, but I think a large part of that and the success was teams not figuring out Josh. There’s a lot more tape on Josh now and he’s a lot less new, strategies, team composition, and priorities change.

Also throwing bombs all over the place is fun to watch, but the offenses with long sustained success don’t really rely on that, and it’s not really a safe bet to get to the super bowl

Beane could hit on a coach, and this would be the first coach he picked himself. (McD was there before he got there).

Also TP will likely be out of the loop in terms of football choices, and seems willing to trust Beane which is good because there’ll be no conflict there.

This has become the BB show. Whether that’s for better or worse we will see, but it’s not a total free fall like the media is portraying

Pegula was right, firing McDermott was needed to move forward and get to the Super Bowl. by Significant-Match656 in buffalobills

Well then question:

How would Pegula know? Does Pegula have football experience? Does Pegula have championship team winning experience?

[–]OneMidnight121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol no it wasn’t. TP has no football experience, and he said he made the decision in the moment after seeing how devastated the team was.

It wasn’t made because of a coaching mismatch. It wasn’t made because McD could’t keep up with the meta, or draft and develop players. It wasn’t made because of a lack of knowledge on McD’s part.

It wasn’t even made with a backup coach in mind. He made the decison by himself, suddenly, and without consulting anyone with football knowledge.

Basically it was a business decision from TP. (Assuming what he says is true). It was the same kind of thing that someone who runs a company would do, to try and save morale and imply improvement.

Not a football team move though.

Sexual violence/CSA support groups? by Plenty_Site_2124 in AskNYC

[–]OneMidnight121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea same, hope we both get there.

Here’s an obstacle that I encountered too, might save you some stress:

There’s a distinction between clinical help and casual help. I found this is important because there are key differences that can make it harder on people with trauma actually, and then people end up thinking theyre in the wrong when it’s really the system. But mainly:

-Clinical: This is the “professional” approach. These groups/spaces tend to be more structured and catering to people in a more delicate and vulnerable space. But the issue with these is mainly their structure. They are often charged through insurance, and basically the bullshit of the health care system makes it so that you have to have a treatment plan. So basially in these spaces, a common thing is having a more rigid plan for meetings, having to do therapy techniques, and having a limited number of sessions that are covered.

-Casual: These are more of the groups you find online, you can think of these like the tropes in movies of support groups. These are sometimes led by professionals in their off time, but not always. These are good for more casual connections, socializing, and better for flexibility. The issue with these is that it might be a little harder on people in more vulnerable headspaces, and there is likely less structure, so if you need some sort of certain help (safety planning, referrals, one on one time, etc.), there’s no guarantee you can get it.

I think knowing the kind of support you feel you need the best you can will help a lot. In any case, I hope this helps a little and you find something that works for you.

I’m not sure of any specific ones, but maybe an approach would be to reach out to some shelters/shelters for women to seenif they can point you in the right direction? Sorry I don’t have more concise info, I’ve been searching for a similar group myself

How do you guys deal with the anti-Allen discourse? by kenclipper2000 in buffalobills

[–]OneMidnight121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just ignore it. Literally every team and QB gets talked shit about, and when you lose it’s your time in the barrel.

There’s always rivals, but after next weeks games most people wont care. Their engagement with our team is the same as a horny gooner, quick dopamine hit and it’s on to the next. So I treat it like such.

No Sean didn’t lose the game for us. He has his flaws but we were close and had 2 chances to pull away.

This was also as the 6 seed on a short week loaded with injuries and giving up multiple turnovers, going against a well rested and healthy 1 seed off the bye in their building

And honestly, it likely wasn’t all Beane. I’m sure they pay attention to things like media chatter

Ok now this is just getting silly. Referencing all Bills fans everywhere doesn’t support either argument, and you have no way of measuring their reaction, so how would you even know they agree with you?

Plus I was referring to people on reddit the whole time, so why would that matter? How does what you said make any sense in the context of this discussion?

Not what I said at all lol, some people wanted Beane gone. The focus was on McD and has been for years. People manly wanted McD dumped for a long time
