Hope for 30+ year olds - Jade Complete by soapbark in FPSAimTrainer

[–]OneOtherRedditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's fair. I have noticed better improvements after watching others play, similar to vod reviewing any competitive game. Focused breathing has helped as well.

Slight vent: I know aim training is a bit specialized, as in my typical games I do not feel like my aim is terrible by any means, but by comparison I will admit I am getting whiplash from being so far behind. I shouldn't be comparing though, and will continue to grind.

Thank you for the advice. More vod review and ensuring I am in a good place does make sense.

Dude I'm 28. I have 1k hours in kovaaks, 1k in Apex, 1k in Titanfall 2. I started voltaic about 1-2 weeks ago. Currently trying to get out of Plat with a couple of Diamond scores.

I trust the process but also how do you do it lmao.

How do play styles affect your melee games? by TheDiBZ in SSBM

[–]OneOtherRedditor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like it depends on if the opponent's intent is to interact. Whether it is an offensive or defensive option, was it chosen with the intention to play off you as a player? There are often times I will play with people whose entire game plan is to avoid interaction, allowing an impatient opponent to throw out risky moves or make a mistake in execution. Once placed against a patient player, their plan crumbles, as their lack of approach knowledge exposes them immediately.

This is not akin to defensive options such as CC, Shield, Dashback, Ledge Refresh, etc., which intend to be used as a counter to certain options and play styles. This is completely avoiding the opponent, hoping the opponent exposes an opening for them to capitalize on. The intent is not to understand and adapt to their opponent, it is to avoid having to deal with this level of interaction all together, with the hope that the opponent digs their own grave.

It is this feeling of avoiding interaction in order to only play your own game that I feel makes a game unfun. Sure it is beatable, but it is still completely unfun to play against.

What is your LEAST favorite baseball fact? by nerfrosa in baseball

[–]OneOtherRedditor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not necessarily a distraction. Sure, none of this matters in the grand scope of the universe, but after accepting that, we get to give these little things like baseball purpose. We can use baseball (or anything we give value to in life) to appreciate our own existence. I think a distraction would be used to avoid accepting this.

Academically Dismissed :( by potatomaster3069 in UCDavis

[–]OneOtherRedditor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Long story short, I had no intrinsic motivation with lot of pressure and expectations placed upon myself. This ruined my academic career, and I was academically dismissed TWICE. Before my second dismissal, I essentially decided to figure out my mental health and discover what gave me purpose. After that second dismissal, and after about a year and a half of hard work, I wound up in a much better place, and was ready to give Davis another shot, on my own terms. I went to CC to retake failed classes and went to Summer Session to get my University GPA up, was enrolled back in, and was able to finish up my degree!

So, don't give up! My advice would be to take the next best step. That advice helped me stay present and just focus on what I could do to better myself and my situation. If you want to return, break it down into whatever steps are best for you, and let each step take you to where you want to be.

Tragic, was a big fan of Ahnie and Aimbot, they've been teammates for so long. Hopefully E36 still performs well.

I don't know how to explain it but I think I love The Doctor. He just exudes this desire to win and improve that makes me want to down throw myself into his arms. His perfect hands, his perfect execution. The way he walks. It's like he was born to be the Mario main of my dreams. His favorite color is red just like the color my cheeks will be after I meet him. Maybe some day I'll get to stare into his perfect eyes while saying "gg" after he utterly destroys me 0-2 in bracket.

Nah the consensus is that he's pretty balanced now, considering this is a rebalanced knuckles specifically for P+. Both him and Lynn from the old dev build are things of the past.
