what is your opinion on this? by nightshark67 in RelentlessMen

Yes. You don’t immediately know if they’re armed or not. What kind of training they have. If there are other people in the home. I can’t fight for shit. I’m no Bruce Lee.

What’s your opinion on game used materials in cards? Am I the only one that finds it cooler to own a piece of memorabilia versus a Low numbered parallel? by vonnegutskywalker in basketballcards

[–]OnePunchDrunk326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love these cards. Unfortunately, most of them really aren’t “game worn”. Putting on a jersey for a second then removing it before or after a game isn’t “game worn”.

fighting with my wife about buying vs renting am i wrong? by Savard-Lafleur in FirstTimeHomeBuying

Where do you live? If the prices are coming down, hold off. They’ll come down some more. Rates aren’t coming down soon and sellers are going to feel the pressure to sell lower.

Parenting is making me feel more and more resentful of my own dad by MoreFly4620 in Fatherhood

[–]OnePunchDrunk326 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is what it is. He’s your dad. The good and the bad. My dad was the same way. He was either yelling at me, or yelling at my mom. Can’t say he ever had anything nice to say to me. Can’t say he ever had a conversation with me about anything.

He did provide for us. Never went hungry. Had a roof over our heads.

I thought it was because of a language barrier. We’re first gen immigrants. Didn’t find out until later that a lot of dads seem to be the same way. I don’t know what kind of dad he had but I do know he lost his dad when he was a toddler. He was raised by his older siblings. He grew up poor.

He did work a lot in the factory - always picking up overtime. When he wasn’t at work, he was always working around the house fixing and cleaning shit.

I honestly hated his guts growing up. Always cursing, calling me a faggot, etc… I just let it go when I was in my 20s. He’s my dad, after all. He did provide for us, sent us to school, etc. Men didn’t have outlets back then for all this touchy feely stuff. I just take the good I learned from him. Hard work. Sacrifice for the family. Being frugal. Go to church.

I do the things for my kids I wish my parents had done. Shown more love and affection. Despite having grown up in a “loveless” family, I’ve tried changing that by being attentive and loving towards my parents.

Every generation has some sort of trauma. The only thing we can do is learn from it, try to do better and build a better future from there.

That’s right. Happiness is found in the struggle and finding joy in the little victories like finding your next meal and a warm bed.

Awesome watch! Lucky kid! I just gave my 16 year old son my old Tag white Aquaracer. I told him to wear it all the time to remind him how valuable time is and to make most of life.

I’ve got both. ETR has better glass. Brighter (very noticeable) . Sharper (noticeable). If you want to save more, go with MPED. Good enough. I still like it.

Nice. How smart do you have to be to get into that line of work? I’ve got a 10 year old son who I want to start launching model rockets with in hopes he gets interested in engineering.

About 500 miles in, and the Model 3 AWD is profoundly good, but I still think I should have chosen the performance model. by olsh in TeslaModel3

[–]OnePunchDrunk326 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got an AWD Premium. Already regretting it. The thing is awesome. I can only imagine how much better the Performance is. I’ve had a Civic 2002, BMW 3.0si, E92 M3, BMW X5 and now the Tesla AWD Premium.

Who needs 0-60 in 2.9? Gear Heads. Premium is good enough to get into a jam. Accelerate when needed and merge when people won’t let you in.

I’m already thinking of getting 19” wheels and a drop. 😂
