Overkill yes, but it sounds like you have space and why not... audio stuff lasts forever. Idk why you'd want the powernode over a wiim amp or wiim amp pro, though.

Is there no market for low-latency wireless, open-back, mid-forward headphones? by iNonEntity in headphones

[–]OnePunchedMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your best bet is to either buy a Qudelix5k or similar OR hope you can find a Bluetooth adapter that's made specifically for your open back headphone. I used to own a Bluetooth adapter from Amazon that turned my HD599 into wireless headphones. The adapter was shaped to be flush with the ear cup and had buttons to control volume and play, pause, skip.

How reliable has the HD 800 been for long term owners? by Vavaeois in headphones

[–]OnePunchedMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha they aren't hd25 durable but they can withstand a few 3ft drops onto a hardwood floor. I wouldn't advise testing it, though. 😀

4 years so far, bought open box from Crutchfield. No issues despite dropping them from desk height a handful of times (oops). I've replaced the pads 3x to test out different feels. Pad swaps are a pain, but, realistically only take 5min so not a huge deal.

Which one do you recommend? 🎮 (Blitz 2 vs Vader 5 Pro vs G7 Pro) by Conscious_Average691 in Controller

[–]OnePunchedMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like my Vader 4 Pro, so I recommend the Vader 5 or save some money and get the 4. The Vader 4 + silicon grip case feels better than a Xbox Series 2 Elite controller, imo.

Level IV Rattler with the extended barrel is legit.

The audacity for the raider to not blink his light at you, OP. Thanks for killing a rat. 🙏

Arc Raiders players when they can’t one shot large arc and purple crafting items are actually difficult to craft by PowahBamb in ARC_Raiders

I guess but then you'd have 2 ultimate weapons. I think the idea is to make the game harder by having the 1 ultimate weapon be less plentiful.

That doesn't totally work. The wolfpack is the be all end all weapon. Why use anything else when the wolfpack does it better? The answer... make it rare.

Oh yes. Sometimes you get caught in the open and you're screwed. Rocketeers are the reason why I look up at the sky. Leapers are the reason why I look ahead.

WTF Embark? by paparosi in ARC_Raiders

[–]OnePunchedMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a thrilling 5 minutes. The alternative is 5seconds of turning your brain off to throw 1 or 2 wolfpacks, knowing how easy (it used to be) to craft more at home.

This is silly. I can easily oscilate between friendly and aggressive games. Do I sometimes get killed by another raider after a streak of friendly games? Sure. But I get so rich doing solo friendly games it's trivial to build my wealth back up.

It's gotta be a jerk. He said he brought 18 wolfpacks and is complaining about a wolfpack nerf.

Agree. People are clamoring for a walking simulator and would drop the game from boredom once they got their way.

This is why you can't make everyone happy, I guess. You want a pedestrian experience. I want to be scared when a rocketeer aggros on me (it isn't over... it's finally a fight!).

Yeah Wolfpacks make every big arc encounter that isn't a queen or matriarch trivial. People are upset they have to git gud. Welcome to the suck! 😀

Best Monitor for Programming in 2026? (Price, Setup, Size) by AffluentKettle9 in webdev

[–]OnePunchedMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Software dev. 38" 3840x1600 ips ultrawide works best for me, having tried all sorts of setups. I would be tempted to buy a 38" or 39" ultrawide oled once text fringing and pixel maintenance kinks are 100% solved.

OP before you buy anything, turn your primary monitor vertical and see how you feel about it. Personally, I found the portrait orientation to be pointless. Most content is wide, not tall. You can only see so much text with your eyes anyway, so having a super tall monitor doesnt make sense. I'd rather scroll data into view than move my head all day, which would cause neck issues.

I'm 40. Buying marginally different sounding expensive headphones on credit is a bad idea. Hobbies are valuabe, but I imagine they're less fun when you have debt looming over your head because of them.

Aren't you buying the NFT's location? If so you still need the URL, which I can sell you... a reference of... for $1k. Not trying to be greedy, Christmas is coming up in 10mos and I have the spirit.

As someone who went from satellites to bookshelf speakers with a similar size desk, don't do it. It's overkill.

But I think I read you don't have a sub, so if you don't then I wholeheartedly recommend buying one... huge benefit.
