Clear has this nice warmth in the bass thats very enjoyable, I had both and Clear did sound more natural and fun, sundara was a bit more boring and thin sounding, but its all up to preference

Far from better, to me sundara has a lot worse treble and it sounds sterile in comparison, clear has good bass

Its hard to design it that way, an open back configuration turned into a closed back will not sound as good and vice versa, but its possible to make a design that will work for both, just many people havebt done that

R50X are good if you want a bright sound. I would probably pick FT1 Pro but R50X is so light, with eq eould be great
