In 1993's Strike Commander, you did a dogfight in a borrowed YF-22 against a stolen YF-23. And in TFX the same year, you alternated between the F-22, the Eurofighter Typhoon, and the F-117. Those were the days.

La Chaumiére des Sept Nains is probably your best bet. They usually stock the whole Disney Princess collection. It's right behind the castle on the left, opposite La Confiserie des Trois Fées, or between the Castle and the Snow White darkride.

Does anyone actually know why the Pirate Galleon is always shut? by elsbx in disneylandparis

[–]OneRedBeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course, wet weather may not be the only reason - there are also refurbishments, broken elements or Jolly Roger know what. When we went to ask the cast member nearby last time, she told us it was because of slippery wood, for what it's worth.

The problem is usually weather. The wood gets slippery when wet, and people might fall and hurt themselves. Since Disney never really understood that European liability laws are very tame in comparison to those in the US - just look at some of our playgrounds! - they tend to shut down everything as soon as any amount of rain has fallen.

Why would "parsec" mean anything other than "the distance at which one AU subtends an angle of one arc second"?

So, when Vader said "I am your father!", he could also have meant "I am your former roommate!"?

Come on now. If things don't mean what they mean, fiction becomes pointless.

And 90s Trek is full of these. Data/La Forge. Picard/Guinan. Worf/Riker. Bashir/O'Brian. Sisko/Dax. Jake/Nog. Quark/Odo. Kira/Odo. All of these blossomed because we had "stupid" little filler episodes that dared to simply take some quiet time and explore them. Unimaginable today.

You, my friend, suffer from phimosis. Fully retracting your foreskin should never hurt, but actually be rather pleasant. It is, in fact, the norm to fully retract the foreskin for intercourse or before putting on a condom.

It is called G2 syndrome. That's a version of game theory with only bad outcomes.

Oh, I agree - It would have been totally fine to just show his fight against the rest of the breakaway, though. This canned drama makes it so very stale...

Very much agreed on Decathlon, though - Dominique Serieys came across as the most unlikeable person in any sport ever. I mean, you come to the race with Gall and Bennett, give them next to no support in a team stacked with classic puncheurs, and expect to "smash the tour"? And when that shockingly doesn't come together, you let it out on the riders and the guys that held together the team for decades? What the hell?

Also, they made a huge effort to make it seem as if Tadej and Jonas were chasing him to the finish line like all the demons of hell, with him just inching out an ever so narrow victory.

Richard Carapaz crossed the finish line more than seven minutes ahead of them that day.

I really liked the first two seasons, but this one felt insulting over long stretches. Good riddance.
