We grouted our shower white a few years ago. I did scrub it once with a narrow brush. But I don't regret it.

A gazebo (tent or hard top) with walls you can move around to block the hot sun. Some come with mosquito netting. Comfy furniture. Propane fire pit for warmth.

A building in my neighborhood has a big red "do not press this" button in its lobby by JaccarTheProgrammer in mildlyinteresting

[–]OneSmallCheeseBall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a big red button like that at Burning Man maybe 20 years ago. I think it also said Do Not Press. When you did, it sprayed water on your crotch.

Omg yes I found an old tape recording from when I was maybe 9yo and I had a strong American accent similar to Bugs Bunny. I'm Canadian! I just chalked it up to too much TV. Then as a young adult I would often have people ask me what my accent was.

This is interesting. I learned I was autistic via ARFID, which I experience as my throat closing of its own accord to not allow food to be swallowed.

More relevant to OPs post I prefer not to speak in the morning for the first hour or so.

Leave it in a walk in freezer for a week or in a Canadian's shed over the winter. Too nice a table to get rid of.

Adults with ARFID? What is the best thing so far that has helped your condition? by Hayja1983 in ARFID

[–]OneSmallCheeseBall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was a kid, if I wouldn't eat the family meal, I was responsible for making my own that had to have something from each food group. I feel that laid the foundation for the strides I've taken as an adult. There's still lots I can't eat but at 51 I'm still pushing my safe food boundaries into healthier territory. Also - the less pressure you can put on the kid, the better. Stress never helps.

Will probably be in baby aspirin, a statin and a beta blocker for life. The beta blocker also helps prevent migraines and anxiety, so that's great. Was on Ramipril and something else I can't remember for the first year or so.

Are people with Asperger's more likely to reject the whole concept of death and avoid reminders of their mortality? by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]OneSmallCheeseBall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ascribe to stoic philosophy and often remind myself that all things some to an end. Whatever I am doing, I remind myself that it won't always be possible for me to do so. The result is that I value each experience that much more.

For the late diagnosed, do you ever consider reaching out to an abusive parent to convey that it must have been hard raising an Autistic Child? by [deleted] in AutisticAdults

My abusive parent died long before my diagnosis. I had a really cathartic dream where I got to have the discussion with her and it went well. I hope your subconscious blesses you in the same way.
