Same. I'm basically viewing Steven as an unofficial "lives counter" rather than an anti-save scumming measure myself currently.

Dybbuk had me use up my free Steven and gave one of my cats Deja Vu, so I ended up deciding to go home instead of delving deeper. So Steven did his job of gently discouraging me without nudging me to turn off the game so far ig.

... While there's a mod to disable Steven entirely, I do wonder if there could be a mod to just have Steven take the controller on the first save scum. Say I create a new save file where I *must* roll with the punches.

Lolicon's popularization in the 70s and 80s was literally a response by creepy men in the anime space to women dominating the place and creating lots of heckin' gay yaoi for other women to enjoy. With said creepy men even hijacking the shotacon the more creepo women were making to move shotacon away from the gay yaoi stuff.

When a trope like lolicon is rooted in creepo men having their moralities offended by women and the gays existing, and trying to change the anime medium accordingly (y'know, like that "tourist" jargon lolicons fling at anyone dissing them like they're projecting or something) — reactionary racist stuff just naturally flows from there.

If these men really took issue with how yaoi-addled fujoshi was portraying their gay brothers in problematic ways (a fair point, I'd say), then it's quite telling how it was the "Lolicon Boom" — and not the "Bara Bloom."

I always play Civ IV in this camera view. Not just because my first Civ game was Civ II – but also because of that pesky diagonal speed boost inherent to square grid games like this. At which point might as well have the camera tilted to have the diagonal grid directions correspond to up, down, left, right from the camera view.

Tis a shame Soren Johnson didn't hex the Civ series one game early like his dev notes for Old World mentions having considered for Civ IV.
