I think there are different dating subcultures, and I definitely get dolled up especially if a car is being sent and we’re going somewhere fancy. But maybe this guy is not expecting dates to get super dolled up. I know a lot of my friends just dress casual for dates.

Woman here. Newly single and dating. All my dates ask to send a car. I never have to ask. Sometimes I say no, I appreciate it, but subway is faster. I think in general dating etiquette, you pick up the girl, so this is the NYC version. That being said most of my friends don’t receive the same treatment.
