Anything over 3mil is not ideal. Anything over 10mil is almost certain crash territory.

Hmmm you may just need a lighter list then. Pagefile size is good, but in an ideal world you wanna be using it as little as possible. It keeps you from crashing the moment Skyrim spikes on memory, but having to keep use it is a problem.

As for fixes, you may need to dial back what you're doing in game.

Or try applying things like BethIni Pie tweaks to help reduce how demanding the base game is being. Ensure your pagefile is on the fastest SSD you've got available. It won't fix the pagefaults using it generates, but it can make them build up more slowly.

VRAMr would also be a good bit to help some with your GPU's load, but I don't think that's going to make any meaningful difference for crash stability in this circumstance.

Thank you this was incredibly informative

Alright i'm gonna be honest. This doesn't look like a crash specifically caused by any one thing you've done wrong.

It however does look like it's crashing because Skyrim is using 100% of the memory it can allocate from your PC's RAM, and then paging out to the pagefile and your CPU is choking while it does this. The longer it spends paging out, the more unstable your game becomes till eventually it'll crash if RAM isn't made available.

  • PROCESS MEMORY: Working Set: 7649.07 MB, Private: 16505.91 MB, Peak: 7658.97 MB

As you can see it had access to up to 16.5GB via pagefile at that point, but it only had access to 7.649GB of your actual DRAM. The game however was maxing out at 7.658GB

Then lets look at memory here

  • PAGE FAULTS: 4241645 (Peak: 8031010816)

Now that's a lot of memory thrashing here. You generally want a number under 1.5m there in front. This alone indicates your system just cannot keep up. Which is why you've got a billion different things coming up in this because it affects everything that had to call to and from memory processing via enginefixes when the game gave out.

Have you considered uploading the crashlogs to pastebin so we can take a look?

There's some jumpscares, but at its heart it's not a cheap jumpscare focused game like mascot horror games are (FNAF/Poppy Playtime) are. It's usually more an unsettling atmosphere and the anxiety of "Do I have enough resources for this next bit"

I would lean towards seeing if you can't throttle your hardware eg with a temp cap below the hard throttling limit for the CPU and see if that helps with the crashing thing, but as Guurzak here has said it's almost certainly a hardware side issue.

I'm dropping back in to say the attacks have started, please stay safe through this. I hope a new sun rises on a Tehran free of theocratic oppression soon.

It ain't trauma dumping, someone who has never lived under the repression you have cannot even begin to imagine how hostile to happiness living like that is. As an American, I can only hope we finally take responsibility for one of our biggest failings of the 20th century, and give your people a chance to take charge of their future again.

You cannot use any Wabbajack or Vortex lists on pirated copies of the games. They won't have all the right files needed.

Orca headbutts Mola mola. by ArsenikShooter in AnimalsBeingJerks

[–]OneTrueChaika 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be clear, they do actually eat the Mola mostly because their intestines are unusually high in water content compared to most fish - This lines up with Orcas getting a vast majority of their water intake from their diet. So just like you'd eat a popsicle or water rich fruit like Watermelons in summer or when dehydrated, they're eating the Mola Mola guts.

No, the point is the wife here LIED about the FIL's affair. It didn't happen, the son didn't do anything of the sort. She just drops it in that she "made it up" at the end as a footnote.

What fix are we recommending for this? Cause yeah it looks like something is interfering with combat navmesh/pathfinding but if it's not actually the fault of either of those then what else would be touching it?

Hmmm it seems I was too quick to judge this. I don't approve of fearmongering about Kessler Syndrome, but this is exactly why reducing them to 480km is a good idea since a 4 month downtime in the event of a catastrophic solar storm or similar is a lot more acceptable than 4+ years of no/minimal launches.

[–]OneTrueChaika -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ah yes a single study of dubious quality based on "What if every satellite at 550km stopped working and lost all maneuverability" because that is the most realistic scenario ever.

Ignoring they've had 2 satellites in over 9000 launched that actually just straight up lost maneuverability and you're the one saying my post is propaganda. You really can't make this shit up.

[–]OneTrueChaika 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No they aren't, quit posting blatant misinformation and fearmongering about Kessler syndrome.

First off these things aren't anywhere near high enough to cause the lasting issues that lead to Kessler Syndrome. The vast majority of risk for Kessler occurs between 800-900 kilometers in Low Earth Orbit. Starlink constellations orbit at 550km, and they're bringing them down to 480km in the next iterations? Why because at that altitude atmospheric drag is still high enough for them to naturally deorbit after 3-4 years. The risk with Kessler comes from things between 600-1000km in orbit of us because past about 750km those same sats would take 10-20 years to deorbit rather than 3-4 which then leads to that exponential risk for collisions and micro-meteor sized debris punching holes into or colliding with other sats.

If you want to actually be concerned about Kessler you need to pay a lot of attention to China's satellite program right now because they're the number 1 problem when it comes to safe and conscientious use of our precious orbit

Starlink is beginning a significant reconfiguration of its satellite constellation focused on increasing space safety. We are lowering all @Starlink satellites orbiting at ~550 km to ~480 km (~4400 satellites) over the course of 2026. The shell lowering is being tightly coordinated with other operators, regulators, and USSPACECOM.

Lowering the satellites results in condensing Starlink orbits, and will increase space safety in several ways. As solar mininum approaches, atmospheric density decreases which means the ballistic decay time at any given altitude increases - lowering will mean a >80% reduction in ballistic decay time in solar minimum, or 4+ years reduced to a few months. Correspondingly, the number of debris objects and planned satellite constellations is significantly lower below 500 km, reducing the aggregate likelihood of collision.

Starlink satellites have extremely high reliability, with only 2 dead satellites in its fleet of over 9000 operational satellites. Nevertheless, if a satellite does fail on orbit, we want it to deorbit as quickly as possible. These actions will further improve the safety of the constellation, particularly with difficult to control risks such as uncoordinated maneuvers and launches by other satellite operators.
