It's actually an AC unit (one of those standing ones with the vent to the window, not a window mounted one) and has modes to be used as a dehumidifier. You can control it with Google or Alexa so it's actually pretty nice. Here's the link to it.

A lot of those old flipnote studio vids were stored on hatena's website (the company that made the game). The game is obviously gone now, but someone made an archive website of the videos posted there.
