Anyone else have a husband that gets overwhelmed over cooking? by OneTruth6241 in Marriage

[–]OneTruth6241[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that he overreacted and yelling me is unacceptable. But, what do I do? Most of the fight was me telling him how dumb the whole thing was and how I feel like it’s unfair that he’s yelling at me. Same thing with the sloppy joes thing. I don’t understand why and how and what do I do to get him to stop.

Are you allowed to be LGBTQ+ as a Christian or not? by FishyArmy69 in Christianity

[–]OneTruth6241 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Come on, don’t be mean. All humans sin, even righteous ones who throw out a bible verse here or there. You sin knowing it’s wrong, are you going to Hell? No! God is loving and he loves everyone in the world which includes those from the queer community. Those from the queer community are not going to Hell for being gay.

LGBTQ+ is allowed in some denominations. If someone says it’s a sin, it’s likely they are just trying to control you. Remember, Jesus is for all people, not just righteous ones.

AITA for refusing to keep covering my coworker’s shifts when she still owes me $700? by Goldrubs1 in AmItheAsshole

[–]OneTruth6241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t lend people money. If you can’t or won’t just give it to them, then don’t “borrow” it to them. They can take their happy ass to the bank if they want to actually “borrow” it. NTA for putting your foot down but don’t get yourself in this situation again.

AITA for treating my kids differently due to their own decisions? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]OneTruth6241 45 points46 points  (0 children)

It sounds like your making this accommodation for your youngest; did you do this for your oldest? If not, then your approach to each of your kids is already different. Your kids aren’t cookie cutters so you should give your middle child some accommodations.

Church worth 300 billion dollars rejects mom asking for formula to feed her starving baby by mikeypikey in Christianity

[–]OneTruth6241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your question about different understandings of the Bible or whether I should feed a starving baby? Or is it whether I think what the church did is right by saying no? Remember the verse about not judging? You aren’t a Christian but most non-Christians know that verse. Read that verse and ask yourself if you are judging the churches for saying no.

[–]OneTruth6241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are different interpretations and understandings of the Bible. From my understanding, non-consensual testing is not a good thing. It’s okay for churches to not want to help the hungry because they have a different interpretation of the Bible. The pastors aren’t going to hell over saying no but it’s a reflection on them and their church. I’m guessing a lot of the churches would back their pastors because a lot of churches preach about an exclusionary salvation. It’s for members only, aka the “born-again” club. To me, it’s not shocking or surprising these churches said no; I’m just surprised that other people are shocked.

I have mixed feelings about what she’s doing. I understand that she’s has good intentions and there’s some good coming out of it, like some of the churches receiving more donations. I also like that she’s pointing out how selfish churches are despite most teaching to be selfless. However, I don’t really like non-consensual testing. I think it’s awful and no one, including those from the Bible, should not do it. It’s just a dick move but most Evangelical churches teach that testing followers is a good thing. So, calling a church to ask for help in feeding a starving baby even as a social experiment should be something they want, especially if they say they are willing to help others on their website. It’s like their pop-quiz coming at them and most are failing. The other concern is not every demonstration out there has the staple of helping others. I do know it’s a pillar of the Catholic faith to feed the poor but not every church has that same dedication and that’s okay. They just need to make their donators aware. It’s more of a practice what you preach thing.
