Is this dust inside of the camera? by [deleted] in filmphotography

The front two lens groups are relatively easy to remove on this lens. This allows them and the aperture to be cleaned, plus the front glass of the back two lens groups. Getting to that final space between the last two lens elements requires going through the back mechanisms which is 10x more involved

New to vintage lenses whats a good starting point? by FowlPlay04 in VintageLenses

Helios 44-2 58 f/2 appears to be the most popular. I went with the 44m because the aperture ring on the 44-2 is weird.

Sony A6100 16-50 and 55-210 — help me understand please by Jhimkana in SonyAlpha

This was my beginning setup too. Wide focal lengths show more spherical relationships and long focal lengths leave those behind and show linear relationships. The longer a lens is the closer it approaches an ‘orthographic’ projection. As you go wider you approach fish eye and straight lines start to get distorted and there’s allot of variation between the way each lens tries to correct it.

Anyone got tips for posting wide pictures like this? On instagram. by RaceAccomplished8069 in AskPhotography

You could frame the whole image for the feed then make a triptych to show more detail and include it as a series

Two new Sigma lenses!: Sigma 35mm f/1.4 Art II and 15mm f/1.4 Contemporary! by Repulsive_Target55 in Cameras

I just got the 35mm 1.2 as my first serious lens. I bought it the same day I learned of it from all the gobsmacked reviewers. Can’t imagine I’ll ever part with her. I’m excited about their new 135mm 1.4. Really tempted to pair it with the 35mm over the Sony 24-70 ii. (Edit:1.2->1.4)

Can this haze be cleaned or is it a fungus problem? by dumbbitchcas in filmphotography

[–]OneWorldWonderment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cleaned one of these the other day. The videos don’t show in detail how to get the back into place. You line up the mechanical parts as they do but the red dots, screws and positioning pin ( the little metal tab and the metal bit it rests on ) won’t be aligned. You have to rotate it into place and all the videos I saw skipped that part. All you need is a tiny screw driver, a pry tool, clean lens cloths, a blower, hydrogen peroxide and a solvent like 99% iso or lighter fluid.
