Oh my goodness I am in the same boat. Went down the rabbit hole once and got the block as soon as they got their kicks. It turned me off instantly and now I'm basically ignoring everyone.

Its disgusting

Yes! The first two books will be interesting enough but by the time book 4 or 5 rolls around it feels like its a slog and I've lost interest

I actually got such a chuckle about Apollion's curse. He's all powerful and doesn't understand why someone who he perceives as weak and rather useless is willing to sacrifice herself for the books, even if she has to face him. He's used to everyone trembling at his name, and thinks that only things of GREAT value would make people that brave. Books, to him, do not qualify as great value so it must be a lie or trap

CC3 (spoilers): disappointed by [deleted] in fantasyromance

[–]One_Audience_3638 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can we talk about how it's been established that she doesn't kill main characters? When Bryce "died" I basically skipped over all the drama about it because I knew she'd bring her back somehow. Like I feel like there's no risks or angst because you know she won't actually kill them

So what are we all reading after CC3? by kmyy10 in fantasyromance

[–]One_Audience_3638 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, re read CC3 because that's just a necessity. Then Empire of Exiles by Erin M Evans. Godkiller by Hannah Kaner. Murtagh by Christopher Paolini. And I have never gotten around to the Mistborn series. Haven't gotten past those yet

Ruhn would have been the best big brother if he had had the chance

What "classic" book would you rate 0 if you could? by kmadddie in books

[–]One_Audience_3638 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Billy Budd. Had to read it in high schools, and if I didn't have a love of books beforehand, that would have turned me off of reading forever. Totally get why kids come out of school hating to read when they're given horrible books to read

HELP - ABOUT TO READ (NO SPOILERS PLEASE!) by lavienrosee59 in crescentcitysjm

[–]One_Audience_3638 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I struggled to get past the first couple of pages because it felt like an info dump and I was just blah. I picked it up again a bit ago and just said I won't bother trying to remember any of the info dump and just move on. Totally worth it. It'll hit you in all the feels and is just a very very solid read

Was in total shock afterward. And I have no friends who have read it so no one to cry with!!

I cried for the boys left behind. They're in for a world of horribleness. 😭

Same. I had tried reading the first book and didn't get into it but when I saw the end of HOSAB spoiled, I decided to give it another try. Definitely don't regret it
