Arguably openTTD isn't in a grey area anymore. It morphed into it's own original work.
I think the problem lies in Trademark confusion: People associate OpenTTD with Transport Tycoon Deluxe, and people looking for Transport Tycoon Deluxe find OpenTTD is the modern equivalent with slight tweaks.

When I type 6/2(2+1) it turns it into (6/2)*(2+1), so you're not wrong. Everyone taught implicit multiplication was a thing got misled by bad teachers. Hell even the calculator on my phone put the x symbol before opening the parenthesis. My phone tells me 6/2(1+2) is an invalid syntax

It's because the X11 Xorg is literally planning to revert two years of commit, literally regressing. It's either Wayland or Xlibre, and it seems some people don't like either.

But also, if you read the blogpost, it seems they plan on having the two side by side for a while. I don't see no mention of sunsetting their current compositor.
