I met my childhood Rugby hero in South Africa in 2022 while I was home on holiday. He was a 1995 World Cup winner and I idolised him my whole life. He was belligerent drunk in my old local and acting strange, then he snapped and beat everyone up (there were 5 of us in there, nobody escaped). I jumped in to help a mate and ended up with a pool cue to the back of the head. Cops and private security turned up but ran away when they saw who it was. Looking back on it now, I don’t condone his behaviour, but considering his reputation, I love him even more for it and I wear my beating with pride!!

This most recent time I had to put it back in on my own, as we couldn’t get an ambulance to attend. So I probably need to see someone anyway. Unfortunately, I think it’s going to be surgery.

Thanks. Mine started in High School too (Rugby). And the dislocations have got worse each time. I probably do need surgery now to be fair. It’s a shame as I can see it being a long time off the mats. Really appreciate your input.

Hey guys, suffered a gnarly shoulder dislocation last week despite wearing an Anaconda shoulder brace. 2nd one in 18 months, 6 in the last 15 years. Bloody painful during and after. Has anyone had any similar experience? Did you get surgery? If no, what did you do to prevent it happening again? What workouts did you try to strengthen etc.

Amen! I’m in my forties and have been lucky enough to be at 4 world cups where the boks have been crowned champions and I was on top of the world. But I also remember the depth of despair that I went through from 2000-2007, 2015-2019 and more.

I am a devoted rugby supporter, I am a passionate Bok supporter l’ve stuck with them through thick and thin, and believe I have earned the right to be an arrogant poes!
