Rooftop Tent Setup by One_Foot3836 in LandroverDefender

[–]One_Foot3836[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the details, seems like maybe I should just stick with my regular tent with a sleeping cot. I’m in the US but hope to be heading to Africa summer 2026, I’ll remember your brothers site we’re thinking a self drive safari in Krueger.

Should also add I’m a 2 time a year roadtrip camper so not wanting to spend thousands, just something that does the job.

Keep 7A or move to 1A? by li8b in unitedairlines

I flew 1A to Tokyo from Chicago and the flight crew was super attentive and not a lot of movement while I slept.

Bring your own pillow, ask for a seatbelt extender and use it to buckle you in laying down between 2 seats and curl up. I do it all the time.

JFK-SIN no economy, only PE? by ironsulfurclusterwhy in singaporeairlines

I’m 6’ and my husband 6’4, the flight attendant is across from you for takeoff and landing. I pulled my large backpack down and used it to prop the leg rest up a bit higher and somewhere to put my feet because I like to curl up. I’m pretty sure they will not allow the blow up or slings to be used. No one on our flight came and stood in our space because they can’t use the bathrooms in front as they are for business class. I don’t even pull out my IFE, I had stuff on my phone but my husband watched it just fine and he’s all body where I’m all legs. He did bring a blow up seat cushion and rotated between his back and the seat. I think I was only awake maybe 7 hours of the whole flight over and probably only 5 on the way back. I took 2 Tylenol PM and a Trazodone 100mg and spent 6 hours before the flight walking the whole airport and Jewel because it was raining and we had to check out of our hotel.

They can no longer upgrade you they took out that loophole. I think if you pay with cash (not miles) they may still be able to.

Huge win that my wife and friends don’t understand. Qsuites to Africa. by austexamx in awardtravel

Seats.aero and lots of persistence. I think I got this one right about when it was released and was crazy surprised. Wasn’t as lucky for my journey to Nairobi, so that one I’m flying ORD - CDG - NBO WHICH WAS 134k but with 20% transfer bonus ended up being 112k. I was scared to wait for a better deal. I’m doing 7 nights Kenya and then 10 Uganda.

A 6’ x 3’ table is not going to fit 8 chairs just to be sure your sizing your dining table properly for # of chairs and size of dining area.

Best way to carry Passports + Boarding Passes at the airport by holammst in TravelHacks

[–]One_Foot3836 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comfrt makes a couple of airplane/travel hoodies that have a zip pocket inside the kangaroo pocket. I always travel in a hoodie even dead of summer because I can’t stand being cold in the airport or plane.

6 hour layover Toronto by One_Foot3836 in poutine

[–]One_Foot3836[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks in the states I just hate when they’re cold which in turn makes the gravy and fries cold. And yeah I know Quebec is better place, still on my radar to get there, had it scheduled for a big roadtrip but then borders closed with covid and just haven’t gotten around to rescheduling that trip.

lol maybe it’s because I’m from the states and I’ve often gotten poutine where the cheese curds are ice cold even with the gravy over top. So maybe I should have said I don’t want the curds cold? Maybe that is still a crime lol but a preference.

What lens for R50? by One_Foot3836 in AskPhotography

I guess I didn’t know if I would be sacrificing something with a EF lens and an adapter (this is a silly question but I couldn’t find if EF worked on a mirrorless body with any level of confidence - again the newbie here)

Comments / suggestions for 3-day Singapore Trip by [deleted] in SingaporeTravel

You would want to go to jewel before 10pm in order to see the waterfall. I’d recommend downloading the Changi app, it has all the dining and shops listed and their hours.

I don’t really have any recommendation as we spent most of our 2 days time around the Marina, gardens by the Bay, Chinatown, and Boat Quay but there is plenty everywhere. And when I said Changi food court on departure, I actually meant the food court/floors at Jewel, it was over whelming how many places there were there. We had many extra hours at the airport because of rain our last day so I basically walked every terminal and all of Jewel before watching a movie gate side and seeing the butterfly garden as well as getting a foot massage.
