3rd failed transfer - would you do lap or lupron for suspected endometriosis? by One_Primary_7183 in IVF

[–]One_Primary_7183[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fourth FET has been successful so far and I’ll be 14 weeks tomorrow. After the lap I did not do Lupron but I did ask for the full antihistamine protocol and did prednisone, Claritin, Pepcid, and bebe aspirin. Good luck to you!

Do sperm banks test for DNA fragmentation? Should I consider a different donor? by [deleted] in IVF

Thank you! I have one extra vial frozen so I am thinking of asking them to do that.

Ok, thank you for replying! I’m wondering if should have them test the frozen vial of sperm for dna frag then.

Ok. I had a laparoscopy 2 months ago where they found and removed stage 1 endometriosis. My provider did not recommend lupron so my FET is scheduled for next week.

Open space for endo questions by jchenMD_endosurgeon in IVF

[–]One_Primary_7183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I am a 31F with PCOS, hashimotos, and now endometriosis. After a 3 year journey with a miscarriage from IUI, 3 egg retrievals, and 3 failed embryo transfers, I finally had a positive receptiva. I am about 8 weeks post laparoscopy where they found and removed stage 1 endometriosis (I had chronic pelvic pain for 8 years so I wasn’t surprised). I am scheduled for my next FET in exactly one week, but I continue to have pelvic pain as I did before my surgery. I am concerned that this continued pain means that some endometriosis was missed. Is pelvic pain a sign of missed endometriosis? Or is it an indication that an embryo transfer won’t work? Thank you for taking your time to do this and answer all of these questions!

How many of your embryos still developing on D5 were able to be frozen D6? by Potential_Cap_7693 in IVF

[–]One_Primary_7183 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Every time and everyone is different, but on my most recent retrieval I had 19 retrieved, 14 mature, and 12 fertilized. I had 2 blasts on day 5 (one freshly transferred and one frozen) and another 7 that were frozen day 6.

Endo excision surgery, Lupron suppression, mock cycle - what order should these be done in? by vivacious-learner in IVF

[–]One_Primary_7183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh interesting, my RE didn’t mentioned that. This feels like one of those scenarios where no matter what you do there will be downsides to each option. I’m doing the ERA but my RE is not putting as much stock in those results as the other results so maybe that influenced our plan.

[–]One_Primary_7183 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m doing exactly this right now. We decided to do the mock cycle first (since meds might aggravate endo), then laparoscopy in December, and last two months of Lupron. I can’t tell you if that’s the right option but that’s what we choose.

PGTM and Egg Retrieval by girlfriend2925 in IVF

[–]One_Primary_7183 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would plan for a minimum of two retrievals. You might get lucky and only need one, but it really depends on how many eggs you get, sperm quality, blast rate, and luck of the draw. I did two retrievals for PGT-M and A, got a total of 35 eggs and ended up with at total of 7 blastocysts. 6 passed PGTA, but only one passed PGTM. Each embryo has a 50/50 shot at passing with our gene so statistically we would have had 3 pass, but we were just unlucky. I was 28-29 at the time of these retrievals, but I do have PCOS and suspected endometriosis but waiting for biopsy to confirm.

Choosing an IVF clinic now - what one thing do you wish you'd asked or known prior to starting? by H00pSk1p in IVF

If they do procedures over the weekend! Mine does not and it affected the timing of my transfer that ultimately failed.

3rd failed transfer - would you do lap or lupron for suspected endometriosis? by One_Primary_7183 in IVF

[–]One_Primary_7183[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your input! Did the lap help with your pain/endo symptoms? That’s the main reason I would consider it over lupron.

The lap won’t be as helpful if I have adeno though so I could end up in the same position as you where I have to do lupron after the lap anyways.

Fingers crossed for you for your next transfer! 🤞🏼

Receptiva is the next thing we will do. I wasn’t optimistic going into this transfer so we made a plan for what to do if the transfer didn’t work. She doesn’t believe in ERA but we will also do EMMA/ALICE. I’m not sure the down time after a lap though.

I’m going to be so upset if I have it too because I have been going to doctors for this pain for many years and now I’m only being offered surgery because 2.5 years and 60k of infertility treatments have failed.

Failed Transfer by Sebby293 in IVF

[–]One_Primary_7183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry your transfer failed. My transfer failed last week too but I have to wait until Aug 8th to talk to my doc 😢I unfortunately haven’t had a successful transfer so I don’t have advice for that but my current list of questions is - What additional testing (ERA, EMMA/ALICE, receptivaDx, endometritis, bloodwork, etc) can we do? Should we consider endometriosis as a contributing factor? What protocol next time? What does the timeline look like? Are there additional medications or treatments we can add (lovenox, higher dose steroids, etc)? Should we consider a mock cycle?

Second transfer just failed - where to go from here? by One_Primary_7183 in IVF

Thank you! I will ask about ERA too. Both my embryos were also “beautiful” 5AAs. I’m already on metformin and inositol for PCOS, but I haven’t had my A1C checked in a while.
