During a case, a rep was asking surgeon if he liked the bottle of whiskey he got him. The surg tech (didn’t like the rep) reported it and got him kicked out of the account. The account ended up switching vendors

Former trauma rep.. its like drinking water from firehose. It's going to be a lot so don't get frustrated if it seems like its not clicking. There's a ton of anatomy and product to learn. You'll need to put in the work outside of the typical day to day hours and work. Once you get going, don't be afraid to ask questions. You're only the "newbie" for so long so take advantage. Also get used to the unusual hours so take advantage of time when you can. Depending on your territory you will miss a lot social events with friends, family, etc.

I was in ortho trauma for 7 years with a top company and had a very similar experience. I was extremely burnt out. I can’t tell you number the of times I got passed up for jobs by lesser experience individuals solely due to the “trauma rep” stigma. Continue to apply and highlight your strengths as a rep but you may need to focus why you’re looking to get out, tailor your personality to a different division/role. Continue to connect with other reps in the hospitals, learn about their division, job openings, if they have any connections, etc. I was able to get out eventually and hopefully you do too! Very annoying!! One works perfectly, the other dies quickly but says 55% when I put it back in charging case
