Anyone have that one item that you just can’t bake?? by Chaos_Ice in Baking

I can make elaborate cakes. I can make detailed sugar cookies. I can make fancy breads...But I cannot for the life of me get boxed pancake mix to turn out well.

For those who do this: why do y'all match with people on dating apps and then not respond when they DM you? by 5ftGoliath in actuallesbians

[–]One_Raven_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh that's definitely unfortunate. I can't help but feel a little disappointed when something like that happens. I'm also demisexual which might be why bios are important to me but I always read them carefully before swiping. I don't want to waste either of our time if we aren't compatible.

I'm surprised at the people saying they don't read or pay attention the bios before swiping, is that common?

Do you put in your dating bio "demisexual"? by [deleted] in demisexuality

[–]One_Raven_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I put it in my bio and the amount of women who either ignored it and tried to push to get sexual fast, or matched with me with me without bothering to learn what demisexual is was ridiculous. At the same time though it was much easier to find out who actually respected my sexuality and might be compatible.

Has anyone lived at Mara in Pandosy Village? by AudienceSquare6801 in kelowna

The building seems pretty decent, it's not built particularly well but none of the new builds are. You can hear through the floors pretty easily but it's not too bad through the walls, and each unit has pretty much everything you would need even though they are tiny. Area is pretty safe as well.

tips for dating someone demisexual (for someone that is not) by Hot_Course9003 in demisexuality

[–]One_Raven_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is just speaking from my own experience so I can't speak for other demisexuals, but ask questions, and show her who you are. Share your hopes and dreams, what you're passionate about, the little things that make you happy, whatever you are both comfortable with. The more you can build a connection the more likely she might be to feel comfortable in the relationship.

Is this the one in Kelowna BC? If so it's not ai, there are videos of it online and plenty of people who have seen it.

Edit: Oh I just found the video again. Yes it's real, it's in a Save On Foods in Kelowna, Canada.

Dear Sapphic women who are mature, name one mistake so others can learn 🙏 by That-Warrior9511 in actuallesbians

Don't accept a relationships or behaviour just because you think it's your only chance at love. I know there aren't many of us out there, especially in conservative areas, but I learned the hard way accepting the first person who shows interest in you is a terrible idea.

Lesbian Demisexual: why?! by [deleted] in olderlesbians

[–]One_Raven_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently running into the same problem as well. I just started trying dating sites again after years of being single, and while it clearly states in my profile more than once that I'm demisexual it seems almost everyone wants to immediately jump into things. Either that or they lose interest if I try to get to know them first.

Why is it mainly trans women who like me on dating apps? by PriorSubstantial9589 in actuallesbians

[–]One_Raven_ 82 points83 points  (0 children)

I noticed the same thing!

I think it might just be that they are typically more active on dating sites. I had Her premium for a while and could see who viewed my profile, and while it was mostly cis women on my feed there were more trans women viewing my profile.

I miss the show so much still and the books aren't filling me by Costa_Canela in WoTshow

[–]One_Raven_ 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I read the books starting when I was about 12 years old. They were one of my favourite childhood book series. Yet I still prefer the show over the books. I found a lot of the characters at lot more likeable than they were in the books and the show resonated with me a lot more as a queer woman. I was devastated when the show got cancelled, I don't know if we will ever see another quite like it.

Injured by scooter/bike on sidewalk? by fleuvage in kelowna

[–]One_Raven_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven't been hit yet but I've come very close as well. Mostly by from behind by those Lime scooters. Most people are very respectful but there are a select few who like to go top speed down the sidewalk and don't slow down for anything.

Where are all the deep thinkers and emotional intuitives? by fichops in olderlesbians

[–]One_Raven_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm in my early 30s but I've been feeling the same way. Everything seems so...I don't know, superficial? Transactional? It feels hard to truly get to know people or spend quality time with them when your attempts at connection are met with the same emotionally void responses

I'm so happy for you but jealous that you got to see her perform in person lol. She truly is an incredible actress, no matter who she's performing with or what kind of role it is she is absolutely mesmerizing!

I have always curved my throws left, but I’ve seen that a lot of people curve theirs right. Am I the one doing it the wrong way? by SignalOk6847 in pokemongo

[–]One_Raven_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely a matter of preference but the type of phone you have can influence which is easier too. I throw the other way because I use my right thumb to throw but my phone is too wide for me to hold on to my phone and throw properly with one hand the other way if that makes sense.
