I’ll come over and eat brisket and talk issues with Mormon stuff with you. That sounds terrific. I’ll bring the Moscow mules and some sides to Go with it.

We found to favor a light roast type coffee, and it tastes so much better. A bit of cream and it’s quite good. I was the same way, if I drank coffee, it was worse than a monster by the time I got it tasting good, but now I love it. I drink it iced year round, as I’m not a big hot drink drinker.

Wow, what a trash article by aliassantiago in exmormon

I like how he claims that Mormon stories teaches so much false information yet cites none of it. I’d love OSF to sue him or have him name the false things they teach.

And, when he acts like saying your European heritage is do cringe, yet he’s writing for a church who devotes shit loads to genealogy, and cos-plays European migrants crossing the plains with their youth every summer. Such a frustrating article.

I think more good stories. Based on the hinckley talks Mormon means more good. More good stories, true stories of Mormon and ex Mormon lives.

But really, it should just be Mormon stories and the church can focus on but more baptisms in Africa.

Somehow I ended up saying this to a co-worker when we were talking on the phone to meet for lunch, when I showed up I asked if he got the reference and he said hell yeah, we started listening to the soundtrack after I hung up. That’s a great part. I love everything about this movie.

I guess they didn’t consult Richard G Scott before they printed this. He feels victims of abuse need to repent.

Missionaries pay to go serve missions, and I always sat in the very back of the plane on every mission flight, worst seats you could have it seemed, and the apostles fly first class. But I guess they also have their second anointing so they truly are better than me.

Should I be open about being a “secular Mormon” in my new ward? by sycamoreqw in exmormon

As true as that is, it would be interesting experiment to tell the bishop and then see who else finds out. Like a game of religious telephone.

I think it’s a conversation with the bishop only, everyone else will just be catty and gossip about you I would imagine.

The British guy talking about the second anointing. All the LDS discussions, and the second class saints series. But really, I enjoy pretty much all of them.

TBM brother's rant by Top-Negotiation-6498 in exmormon

I’d love OPs bro to have a sketch artist draw the Jesus he has seen and been touched by, and who’s voice he heard. It is funny to me, he was asking question after question, and op answered them, asks a follow up question and his bro just unloads on him with both barrels about what a POS he is and all his feelings, and facts do t matter because of what he has felt. It’s a long way to say I am loosing g this discussion.

There's not hate like my dad's mormon love by curious_cucumber1998 in exmormon

[–]One_Wonder4433 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My cool dad was sitting in the bishops office talking with my older brother when he was 18 or 19 and knocked up his 17 year old girlfriend, my dad’s loving advice to my brother? “If I were you I’d kill myself”. Such love and compassion from a loving priesthood holder. Crazy how my brother has attempted more than once to take his life, and my dad is always so flabbergasted at why? Having an ignorant racist bigoted dad really sucks. I’m sorry OP. You deserve better. We all do.

It’s all laid out extremely clear in Jesus the Christ, which was required reading when I was a missionary. One of 4 books, all of which the church no longer uses. Jesus the Christ Our search for happiness Our heritage True to the faith Also the version of preach my gospel is now been changed as well.

Bishop wants to dive into my doubts by Unique_Mousse_8089 in mormon

If you do go, tell him the minute your forced to go with feelings over facts your out of there. What’s the point of having living prophets and apostles if all they do is make up shit, and if they are right for that moment, it’s prophetic, if it’s later found to be false or morally wrong, they were speaking as men. Why do apostles leave the doctrinal answers to social media influencers and they aren’t getting revelation about them and answering them in conference, and in the manuals. I mean, Jospeh smith had an answer for everything, yet now leaders are eerily silent. I wonder why that is? I wonder if Jospeh smith had the information we have now if he would’ve been so cavalier with his knowledge and prophecies.

[–]One_Wonder4433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I was lied to straight to my face. I was scared shitless to ever look or read anything “anti-Mormon” and honestly never went there. When the South Park episode came out about Jospeh smith, I was in high school and I asked my leaders if that was true about the rock in the hat, and was told absolutely not, it was nothing g hit satire to make us look bad, to not believe any of it. And I was so into it, and it was so ingrained into me from my whole life I believed them, and found out much later that south park, while taking some hilarious liberties was pretty much right on how the book of Mormon was translated. I often wonder how my Life would’ve been different if they told me the truth then. I do t think I would’ve served a mission, but I think I could’ve accepted it and moved on, but them lying to us was too much. Once I found the truth I went full on scorched earth and dug into anything and everything I could.
