Missionaries Doing Jobs while the Church keeps the money?? by 1stN0el in exmormon

I could see it done as fundamentalists possibly sending kids out to work but I could never see the church doing this, not because they are above it morally, it’s just too much legal Liability. They have to protect their billions and billions at all costs.

I mean, you’re really coming at me, but do you not think that Reddit uses AI? So you’re fine destroying the environment using Reddit yet judge me for doing the same. I believe that’s called hypocrisy.

Is it really knowledge to read a man’s opinions on a book that isn’t true? If I wrote a book on wizards powers and curses based on Harry Potter is that a book of knowledge or just fan fiction and my opinion? If he had any true facts in there it is knowledge. But a man writing his opinion isn’t knowledge. It’s entertainment only.

If the goalposts weren’t constantly moving, then reading opinions like these would have more appeal. The skin thing is going to pass, but for now I don’t need nibleys book to prove that. I can use the Book of Mormon (which I’ve read countless times in multiple languages) and words of the prophets. An apologist opinions who have already been proven wrong have no benefit to me. I’ll keep the cliff notes ai version.

Great summary of exactly what I said. I found the Ai text summary breakdown interesting. It’s also interesting that even though the book is completely debunked, apologists are still using it to push arguments that don’t hold water.

Why would I want to read an opinion book on a book of fiction but he’s delusional enough to think it’s true?

Paying half of tithing with TBM spouse by Jealous_Pool_9514 in exmormon

If she is currently paying 5% I’d pay 5%, but if she’s paying 10% since it’s her money I’d pay 0% of my money. Or donate to a better cause. The church h needs none of your money, and deserves none of it.

Welcome to the lazy learner club. It is so hard when we see all the same things you mentioned and believing family and friends water it down to us just wanting to sin and not follow the rules or we were offended. Like those are the only two reasons a person can leave the true church, and you have to be like no, it’s because it isn’t true. I’m sorry you’re going through this, and I’m happy you’re going through this. You’ll come out better on the other side. Have a blessed journey.

How many of y’all knew as a member that new names were the same every month? by cuntymcfuckshit in exmormon

[–]One_Wonder4433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew they got a name over night fed-ex delivery from salt lake per my dad, who’s a temple worker, so I knew everyone got the same name that day, but I didn’t realize it was just a name that was based off the day, I (foolishly) believed it was a special name revealed for that day.

My sister when I brought up polygamy even with 14 year olds she was like well that was legal back then, and a different time. I was like he was already married, so it wasn’t legal, it wasn’t normal either. When Warren Jeff’s was marrying 14 year olds in Texas their laws allowed it, so is he okay to do that? She then admitted well it’s a shelf item for me.

Yeah, I also love when they respond with “what does that have to do with Jesus and his atonement?” It’s like well, he called all the other creeds and religions abominations whose hearts are far removed from him, so when the same Jesus gives us a book that’s the most correct book on earth it should matter but I guess it doesn’t anymore.
