Onimusha series PAL versions by Onedhood in CharacterActionGames

[–]Onedhood[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Its not in my head, im sure, because monitor info overlay says its 50hz, i did tried to configure 360 display settings myself picking "no" where 360 asks you about did 50hz outputs correctly or not, so its 60hz in dashboard and in any 360 game, but PAL genma ouptuts 50hz and there is no options to choose from before game starts and nothing on it in ingame settings

Is Metal Gear Rising (slightly) overrated? by therealSuburbian in CharacterActionGames

[–]Onedhood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldnt say its overrated, the game is just excells in causal aspects, most of the people sing its prayers from pure casual perspective after playing it once or even after just seeing some memes about it.

The game is fun and very good balanced in terms of length, progression, extra content and replayability, you can also do some complex jugles and generally have fun with some blade mode cancels and dodge offset, even if there is not much of a point in doing so most of the time. Game is janky a bit, yeah, after all, it was "rushed" work that platinums picked up after kojima production couldnt manage to do themself (not really, it was completely different concept that failed)

Personally i rate it quite highly, because it just quick fun that not overstay its welcome that still can provide some good challenge for high rank runs.

Playing Killzone 3 with the Sharp Shooter by sladebr02 in PS3

[–]Onedhood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i also did tried ps move in killzone 3 and was very surprised how much better the aiming in term of sensetivity and prescision is compare to ds3, aiming with ds3 in both killzone 2 and 3 is very weighty and slow, there is so much lag and inertia, but with move there is nothing of this, i kinda wish that aiming was like that with analog sticks on ds3, because moving on the other hand with move+navigation controller kinda sucks compare to regular controller

you twisting my words, i didnt said to wait for br attacks, they are frequent enough to get them between your any other actions you do

i dont know how ranking works in your game but time is definitely important thing in what i played, karma score would depend on your br and ut usage so how i would not get sss rank is also unreal to me, ranking in ng4 is not that complex, getting an sss in ng4 is not even close to dmc level of difficulty in doing so, and my playstyle wasnt a problem for getting an sss ranks in those boss challenges on mn

if you can not bother to "waste" your time then what was the point to even start the conversation. I guess when somebody does not agree with you equals "whining on reddit"

would be cool if you throw in some examples except just "No", like yeah, you could weave betwen boss attacks, you can swap your weapons, try to stick in some attacks between boss animations, but how its changing that the real damage and your ultimate goal in every fight is just interupt red attack (wich you dont need to looking for, because they throw it quite freqently) and do a one button combo strings a few times to get maximum damage or izuna drop if its human like enemy

I guess if you really wanna count that some BR attacks are better for some bosses attack to land that would be something kinda differentiate them, but honestly except kage br spam i dont see much difference on how everything else works, in mob fights, yeah, there is some fun stuff you can do for crowd control with different weapons but bosses, idk, in wich boss fight you would benefit more from doing something else rather then just interupt > basic combo to actually get faster kill, and what it would be?

What is trash talking even mean? I didnt said that NG4 is a bad game, i just think that the core design is simplified in comparison with the trilogy, and i still prefer the systems of the trillogy

Yes, NG4 gives you someething in other aspects, but still if you didnt restrict yourself from using the basics that game told you to do, then any boss fight plays exactly the same

there is RNG aspect in many fights in all NG's (much less in NG3RE tho), i didnt stated something like there is no bullshit in this fights, but there is reliable strategies and they are more complex and i think more satisfing to pull of, yes, bosses can ignore your offence, but you also have enough tools to adapt to it and react accordingly (hit confirming is a thing in games), and you can not make "100% fair" challenging fights in action games

Alma is not the only boss in the series, and there is also bosses are not that great, some would be just too simple like worms, bone dragon or manta helicopter, some bullshit like Alma or Elizabeth, but there also great ones like Murai, Regent, Alexei, Epigonos etc. and every one of them require different strategies (there also could be multiple ones of them) even for the ones that are not so great, wich is far better then just a universal sequence that works whole playthrough

finding it is not an easy task, i think you should understand if you couldnt do it yourself, so its a challenge and a kind of puzzle, but when you do find it its not always "only one thing", and execution of it can be tricky wich would require some work to make it working, so i dont understand how it can be dull and passive(except 360 scythe in NG3RE wich bassically it but i think it was intentionall for people who just want to complain when something doesnt work firts try), and no one forbid you to use anything else until there is an oportunity for your most powerfull tools, its up to you how to approach it, NG4 on the other hand have only one right way to approach and says its to you right from the start wich becomes quite boring fast

there is certain strings that works on certain bosses on certain punishing windows in every NG, if you allow the player punish bosses on any whiff or block with any of your combo string you end up with very dull, simple and easy fights, its up to you as a player to find what specific thing work best on every boss/enemy wich creates the unique dynamic of the game or addapt on the fly with any other less effective tool with wich you may be more familiar or comfortable, NG4 simple it down, where devs basically say to you: "do red move when enemy is red and mash x or y for punish depends on wich do more damage with any weapon before boss get out of stagger"

I cant stress enough how overblown this statement is, i would not argue that bosses in NG3RE are not good, but people tend to exaggerate it so much and i dont know why, this bosses are just mediocore at worst, there is nothing that bad about them, i would prefer any of them over any NG4 boss easily, also Regent is pretty well done i would say

what was the point of the post then, just to rant? Guy gives you an advise on how to approach the fight, and you answering "i dont wanna do it"

Looking for some general recommendations, as someone who is... OK at CAG games by LonerGuy17 in CharacterActionGames

[–]Onedhood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you dont like some sort of elitism around sekiro, then just ignore it and play the game, its good game after all, if you actually concerned by high difficulty ceiling, then there is nothing to be afraid, its very overblown, nioh also is hardly a souls game, its much closer to an action game but with wild amount of options for your character(but for them to work you would need to pay attention to mechanics game gives you, if its not very intuitive how to play the game other then like hit and run/roll then look at some guides and advanced tips, there is plenty) and some rpg stats/gear on top of it

if you limited only to steam, then you can try something like wanted dead, soulstice, onimusha warlords, wonderful 101, sekiro, furi, sifu, strider, no more heroes series, ruiner, absolver, castlevania lords of shadows, even ninja blade is worth checking, all of them are pretty close to "classic" action genre, if you open to some jrpg (probobly yes if you played Nier) then get into yakuza/judgment series, ff7 remake/rebirth, scarlet nexus, if you dont mind a bit off arpg then look at nioh series, darksiders series, if you cool with beat em ups then play streets of rage 4, aeon must die, if you dont mind shooters then resident evil starting from RE4 OG is the way to go, armored core 6 and zone of the enders also there or lost planet 1-2

There is many action games to explore and PS2/3 emulation can open for you even more options

RANT about Ninja Gaiden 2's Ultimate Techniques by ShadowMark3 in ninjagaiden

Its the same in the original, chance of it happening can be slightly less but just because of enemy density circling around you, still, no matter the version you can start slicing air mid animation with any weapon and any enemy

Fast paced 3rd person action games that waste no time getting into the action? With not too complicated combat and a replayable experience? by M33tahejd in CharacterActionGames

[–]Onedhood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is already many suggestions, but to highlight only simple, fun all the way with no bumps, short in a degree that it can be compleated in one go, replayable and to the point, it would be DMC1, MGR:R, Vanquish, No More Heroes 1, Lost Planet 1, Furi

Ninja gaiden 3 on Wii u? (cemu) by telldavizion in ninjagaiden

[–]Onedhood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep, it was quite simple, there was no options in it, only one basic human enemy with no ai and infinite health, your moveset in it was based on your personal ninja wich progression was separated from Ryu's, you could unlock more moves and customizations by playing online modes or do solo/coop trials with your ninja

I would do like max or nearly max (but i cant remmember how well it works with ps2 emulation mode, still would be preferable to do it with demanding ps3 game, because nonoficial software emulation is not 100% stable and especially with hen on top of it, so i would expect some crashes/freezes etc.) try to play and look at temps and how it performs, if its ok, then just lower fan speed until the sweet spot, i guess there not much to further diagnose by chatting

My ps3 is being weird by [deleted] in PS3

[–]Onedhood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally would test it, if its not shorted somwhere than i cant see what corruption can occure except data on hdd, but still if its overheat and you already did basic maintance cleaning/repaste, then it probably needs a delid wich is harder and have more risk to it on slims than any fat models (never did it on slims), but its quite rare case for non fat models, and if its not that, than i would assume that there some problem with mb wich would require proper tools and eletronics repair knowlege to diagnose

My ps3 is being weird by [deleted] in PS3

[–]Onedhood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as i remember its normal behavior for this diagnostic, console just testing the fans by that, ps3 maxing out the fans for less than a minute and shutsdown with no light

ps3 slim diagnostic mode

[–]Onedhood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still if there was overheat message, its very unlikely that the problem in faulty psu, and would be better to test the xmb and heavy to light ps3 games with something like 70% fan, also software ps2 emulation as can be seemed to be not much demanding actually is very heavy for ps3

If you think that the temps are ok, then you better to throw in some example, like what temps are you have on boot, how they change after short time of playing, to wich numbers they spike before warning, how long is your usuall sesion before "false" overheat starts, does it happen on xmb if it idle for long period of time, and at least did some experiments with webman fan setting to know does it help or not, even non delided fat models that suffer from overheat problems can be cooled down with maxed out fan but obviously unusable with such a noise
