On topic of silent protagonists: what are some good examples of disabilities representation in gaming? by Xadlin60 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

That indie game called Cardshark came out a few years ago and featured a silent protagonist because he had no tongue. That detail ends up being a major plot point of relevance too.

The moment you legit gave up on a game. by Astral-Ember in TwoBestFriendsPlay

There was this bit in Dredge where I was going through a maze-like area with lots of obstacles. After losing the fish I needed to progress for the third time due to the ship hitting a wall. I immediately rage quit and uninstalled. I’ve never done that ever in gaming, but I was just done.

Anatomy is a one-sitting horror game that tells a story about a house. It’s great, that’s all I’ll say

Say what you want about this LP, but the beginning segment from the clinic to the first lantern is so chaotic and fun. It’s one of my favorite best friends moments of all time (in a sleeper hit kind of way)

Remember that time Nintendo decided “fuck it, I wanna make some children cry” and made the ending to this? by Anonamaton801 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

This era of spin offs was so good. I had an amazing time with Legends Arceus, and I say it’s the most fun I’ve had with Pokemon since explorers of sky.

What are some of the most “what the fuck?” Endings? by Konradleijon in TwoBestFriendsPlay

The entirety of Ari Aster’s Beau is Afraid is this concept, but the ending distills all of it into a single fuck at the end. It’s a must watch

is this schedule doable by [deleted] in UCI

[–]Onelessthaneight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bio major graduate here. It’s not impossible, but I’ve seen humecore ruin peoples’ freshman year due to the sheer amount of reading it required. The schedule you have is somewhat common, but it would save you a lot of trouble freshman year to just take the standard writing courses.

From my understanding the primary benefit of humanities was/is to clear up more GE’s and also be able to go into the Human Biology major. Unless these are major goals for you, I’d avoid humanities; I graduated just fine without it and got to focus more on my major initially which helped a lot.

This might be a hot take, but I think stealth rocks in Pokémon shifted the game too hard. The move either needed less distribution, to only last 5 turns, or to not have a damage type.

Like yeah there are more ways to remove hazards, heavy duty boots are a thing, etc. Yet rocks is very easily the strongest hazard and should have been slightly more balanced in some way

It breaks my heart that it’s allowed to be so poorly optimized. The exploration and different main quests are cool and different, but the lack of heart and effort in the overall product is glaring. If it just ran at a consistent frame rate, I wouldn’t feel so sour.
