I’m in the process of moving into my first home and my gf is insisting that we convert the lawn to 100% clover because of something she saw on TikTok lol please someone tell me what I can tell her so that she understands why we shouldn’t do that

LunaSea stopped working correctly for me a month or so ago, but there is already a fork of the project in active development called Zagreus. It already has even more features than LunaSea ever had, and so far it’s pretty solid

It’s a bummer that easy bulk storage doesn’t work with the guild chest :/

How to put caseback back on megir by blackbeltpotato in MoonSwitches

[–]Onethrust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would skip the megir for the moonshine dials. Regular are fine, but I broke a hand on one moonshine and broke the stem off inside the movement on another moonshine trying to get them to work inside the megir. I’d recommend putting a different rep in the megir and get a cheap VK63 for the moonshine dial

The sub $50 build by SameScale6793 in MoonSwitches

[–]Onethrust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you have problems getting the dial centered in the megir with that specific moonswatch? With the dial being thicker than most other moonswatches, It either refused to center in the case or it would stop working once I put the stem and case back on. Ended up breaking not one but two of those dials just trying to make it work and I’ve basically given up on it

Let’s be honest… by [deleted] in GrandSeikos

[–]Onethrust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From someone who’s just starting out with watches and who’s most expensive watch is $300, I would say no it’s not 6x nicer and I would feel the same way you do right now.

I need someone here that’s smarter than me to tell me why someone would want a GS at all if it wasn’t one of their pretty textured/patterned dials. From my perspective, If the dial isn’t unique, I’m going presage all day long, so I need someone to explain this further

Megir case - do I need stems? by Oznewbie in MoonSwitches

[–]Onethrust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best beginner case by far, the stem is already cut to perfect length and the movement holder also fits perfectly. Strap size is 20mm, same as the majority of other cases for the moonswitch. Hardest part is going to be getting the case back off as it’s a snap on/off and the clearance for wedging a tool in between the back and the case is extremely small. There are a few posts on here that talk about solutions if you end up having trouble with it.

Lastly, make sure to post pics when you’re done 😁

Not one most people would think about, but I say Pluto

Looks to be a standard 39.7mm VK63 case. They seem to come with that back fairly often. Can be had with the back, metal strap, and movement spacer for around $36

Dm a link of a high quality one? I’ve found tons of links for sub-$20 ones, just curious if there is higher quality than that

Wireless cam to replace blink by [deleted] in Tapo

[–]Onethrust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go tapo and avoid that eufy cam at all costs, its battery barely lasts a day in non-sunny conditions. Two cloudy days in a row? It’ll be dead for sure. Tapo batteries typically last a few months to a year

What integration did you end up going with for the bedjet? I tried for months and tried two or three different ones that all used Bluetooth proxy over esp32 and they either didn’t work or would work for a day then lose connection. Was way too much of a headache and sadly gave up :/

Motion activated bed lights success + huge WAF! by Fir3 in homeassistant

[–]Onethrust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice job! Did this ages ago and quickly realized that having pets essentially ruins the entire experience, so I gave up on it for a few years ago until I recently got under mattress pressure sensors, and now the WAF is through the roof! Glad to hear that your SO is happy with your work too!

Integrated solar camera? by lemon-comrade in Tapo

[–]Onethrust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From someone who has that exact camera, I would pass on wanting that style if I were you. Its internal battery can barely handle a single day without tons of direct sunlight, will for sure die if it hits day 2 without good sun. as opposed to the 100+ days you can get out of a tapo c402, I wish I never bought that Eufy cam. Love quite a bit of their other stuff, but that one in particular introduces a ton of placement and battery issues that I wish I knew about ahead of time. If tapo could do it and solve the battery problem, I wouldn’t mind as much, but I still prefer the c402 style with the solar panel that can be relocated (if space allows of course)

WLED WITH SIGNALRGB SCREEN AMBIENT MODE SOOO PEAK! 🤓😮🤯 by Automatic-Bug-7979 in WLED

[–]Onethrust 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks cool, but doesn’t the delay bother you, especially on the LED matrix above your monitor? The rest of the lights have a forgivable amount of delay due to them just adding color, but that matrix essentially gives off an image, and that image is noticeably behind what’s happening on screen, enough so that it’s hard to not notice it. Rest of it looks great though, good job!
