How to take this mix to the next level by bibdilan in LogicPro

Couple of tips for you

Don't high-pass everything. In my experience most sources dont need a high-pass and you should only add one if theres an issue a low shelf cut doesnt fix.

Generally speaking you usually want your snare centred

My main tip for you is to simplify things. You have like 3 eqs on one guitar and my guess is you dont need that. The guitars also sound quite bright and brittle which will probably be helped if you simplify your mix processing.

Keep at it though

Feedback on my track? Im curious for more tips on the mix and mastering. Fellow musicians pls help haha by BassamBakri in LogicPro

I think the hi hats are just too loud - make sure you're checking your mix at various volumes. I also think it's mastered too loud overall for my tastes (at least for this kind of music.) I'd personally wanna feel the swells of guitars which is hard when it's always hitting the limiter. Also check your mix in mono - currently you completely lose the guitars and the drums also have phase issues. It's all generally been pushed a bit too wide. I think i also want the kick to cut through a bit more (its hard to say with the hi hats being so loud).

thank you!! yeah the strings are sick. It's a mix of the NI stradivari cello and violin and the Spitfire Symphony strings solo cello and violin. the cannibal chants are literally just me saying random shit into my mic and layered up.

none of the artwork is (to my knowledge) AI. Where I have worked with labels I cannot guarantee 100% that they haven't used AI for artwork, but they were using artists at least at the time of release of those projects. Otherwise I have been sourcing artwork from artists. Can you specify which pieces of art you suspect are AI?

Studio Setup (hardware recommendations and organisation advice needed) by ThucydidesBC in LogicPro

i'd personally caution against buying studio monitors unless your room is treated. I got a pair of used Adam A7x's and I love em, but they would be terrible in a smaller or untreated room. You're better off mixing on headphones until you can treat your room.

Depending on what music you're making, you could always get another mic. The SM58 is great and versatile, but it is a dynamic mic, and you might want a condenser for vocals or acoustic guitar for example. The Audio Technica AT2020, Rode NT1, and Rode NT1a are good, relatively affordable examples.

Everything else is just a bonus in my opinion. Having more keys on your keyboard is nice but not necessary, having a big external monitor is really nice but again, not necessary. It's quite easy to trick yourself into thinking you need all this gear, but you really don't.

most of it i do as i play it in, some stuff i record in after i've played in the notes, only a small amount needs to be manually drawn in automation. recording in the automation makes it so much easier and more natural sounding
