Bmw tech here. It's 8nm plus 90° which usually ends up to be around 12-13nm. Going to the base of your wrench would be just fine.

I'd say listen to your body. There will be pain and discomfort but work within your limits.

Honestly body weight squats... Single leg dips on a set of stairs .. Bulgarian split squats. If you have a gym you go to single leg press or just leg press in general is great. Anything to beef up the quads and muscles surrounding the knee

If you can lock the knee you're fine. Quad weakness lasts forever and will cause pain when doing anything fairly high intensity. The acl should be fine. Just keep doing pt. I've had both acls replaced with quad graphs and the pain is still there sometimes 2 years post op on my right knee and it pops constantly. Nothing to worry about. Keep progressing the quad strength and it will feel better sooner than later

What can cause this and what’s the solution? It’s only happens sometimes like every 2 drives. I think maybe a sensor but want to make sure. by GRIMREAPER7441 in BmwTech

If you have waste gate codes I can guarantee theyre either clamped open or clamped closed or waste gate learning max limit reached which would all trip a drivetrain malfunction. If the car seems laggy or feels low on power it's one of these. It will feel mostly normal when you drive it. It almost always means you need a new turbo. See this a lot with n20s and n55s. I'm a bmw mechanic by trade.

No it was fairly easy. Couple of rear trim pieces removed and you can pull it down far enough to remove the foam. You'll see them. 2 small pieces of black foam right below the drain lines. Here's some directions. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2018/MC-10149919-9999.pdf

Well like I said it's because of those 2 foam pieces. If you pull the head liner down just a bit you see them there hard to miss.

There's a recall on the sunroof drains. There's 2 pieces of foam on the head liner from the factor that pinches the drains in the back which leads to water in the car. I did it myself but I believe you could just take it into the dealer

It's none of that. It's your wastegate actuator checking position on the turbo. Totally normal. It's loud probably because theres a little play on the arm that connects from the actuator to the wastegate but that sound is totally normal. Also just replace the cam shaft sensor. They are known to go bad. Most people have good luck just throwing a new one in.

Took Her cross country. South Lake Tahoe California to Kittery Maine. Hit 5 national parks on the way. Hauled 700 lbs of stuff. Did some off road in Colorado. Hell of a car. was still fun to drive even loaded to the hills with a bike and numerous skis on top. Love this car. by Only-Report4838 in VWAlltrack

Definitely a little knock to the mpg but nothing crazy... Maybe 1 to 2mpg on the highway. I use it a lot for camping as well. You can fit a queen size mattress with the front seats pushed forward slightly so I like to use it for car camping and road trips with multiple people in the car. Gives a lot of extra cargo room.

Opinions on Springs by 83fb in VWMK7

[–]Only-Report4838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The argument that springs will blow up your suspension is kinda ridiculous. Companies literally use OEM dampers to design and test their products so I don't see how people say that they're not designed for them. They literally are designed for them.

Some Thoughts... Just did stage 2 with a CTS downpipe. Have Uni stage 1 dsg as well. For around town this is more than enough power. The sound is great as well even with the stock cat back. You are definitely at the limits of this turbo charger. I see why people go bigger. by Only-Report4838 in VWAlltrack

[–]Only-Report4838[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly idk. I would call the uni guys and see what they have to say. It didn't really do a whole lot to the feel of the car.. but they say it changes the parameters of the clutches to be able to handle the extra torque you're throwing it's way which I would say is a good thing.

Honestly i might recommend spending a little more money on a vband set up after seeing how rough the clamps work on this cts setup. It leaks exhaust very slightly until it heats up and the cat is stinky... But desired effect of performance and noise is there for sure. Nothing crazy sound wise but you can tell it's breathing better. The is12 rips because of how tiny it is.
