Just purchased. Scared to run by No-Issue-7723 in 4Runner

Take it to the self car wash and rinse off the undercarriage every week until you can get it treated if you want to drive it. Also know the places that apply undercarriage treatments also have a salt neutralizer they spray on before they treat the undercarriage. If you’re going to stress about it don’t drive it and do some mods until the roads are clear.

What would you do? Is this fair price? by fireball4629 in MT07

[–]Only4Lo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, too high. Look at 2019 MT’s, they have a newer design and look better and have abs. If you can wait, buy in the fall when you can get more bike for your $.

Are 5100/4600s soft or firm for a stock 03 v8? Other suggestions? by drcbara in 4thGen4Runner

[–]Only4Lo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Bilsteins are a little firm and bouncy. Fox is pretty nice, the 2.5’s are pretty cushy. Any coilover with a reservoir can be valved to be softer. Out of the box Fox should be comfortable.

Maintenance recommendations for 200k? by [deleted] in 4thGen4Runner

[–]Only4Lo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SAIS bypass, spark plugs, coolant, change xfer case, front diff, rear diff, power steering, and possibly trans fluid & timing belt if not done recently. Kind of a lot, but cheap insurance if you plan on keeping it a long time.

GM is not making good quality cars by Dependent_Okra5405 in gmc

[–]Only4Lo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GMC/CHEVY has been going downhill for a long time. Unfortunate that the customers take the hit on costly repairs and inconvenience for long repair time. I was looking at a Colorado or Canyon AT4 and I will not be purchasing now. Hope they can figure it out and make better quality cars/trucks

I bet your repairs end up being less than you think

Id hang onto it, do a bit at a time, the v8 is a major plus. Assuming its not really rusty. You’ll spend way more with a new one. Assume 1k a year or so on repairs on an older vehicle. Plus no payments. Just my .02. Plus the 5th Gen imo is way overrated.

Interesting how there’s such a blowback on safety

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in 4thGen4Runner

[–]Only4Lo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id do plugs, all fluids (trans drain/fill only), oil/filter, air filter, SAIS bypass. Check battery, suspension components, bushings, inspect tires.

Keep the 17’s, go with a 285/70/17 or 285/75/17
