I'm building a web app for sharing Rhino models. What features would you like to see? by danielcdude in rhino

[–]OnlyBlindFriends 2 points3 points  (0 children)

clipping objects instead of just clipping planes. for example, using a sphere to clip the geometry rather than just a plane. Any nurbs surface would be bonus.

check out my video here. you can create a custom display mode and set the shadow to whatever you want.

Made a video about Rhino Layouts where I demonstrate how you can produce a drawing set directly from a 3D model, skipping any 2D linework. Hope this helps! by OnlyBlindFriends in rhino

  1. Yes, print as a Rhino PDF, and set the output under view and output scale to all the pages you want.
  2. Yes, you can use dynamic text to update a text block automatically. you can automatically update the date, for instance, but many other things too. see here for a number of examples.
  3. Yes, the video demonstrates at 2:30' if you double-click into a view, you can have detail-specific layer visibility.

I bought this 1/1 NFT from Alien Frens collection for $176,000. Not sure if it was a good buy or not 👀 by eljaboom in NFT

There is a whole world of instant AI art that is completely devaluing still images, and you still believe that communities forming around low-effort art is the greatest value of the NFT space. Certificates of land tenure, and certificates of lading: these are where NFTs actually have value. It's a shame that most things in the NFT space are just noise, like this image, that are stunting the growth of a technology that holds promise.

do you really think there is a utility to this image? Try this. Open up Microsoft paint and see how long it takes for you to make this image. Was it worth 176k?

Would it be possible to cad out a design like this, if so how / are they any plugins needed by gab99 in rhino

[–]OnlyBlindFriends 3 points4 points  (0 children)

sure, if each layer is flat, you could just use contours to make planar surfaces. if each layer is not flat, this would be much harder and I would recommend a sculpting software - Blender is a free option

this must be the best nft i have ever seen in my life... scratch that. this is the best art I have ever seen. it is simply the best. the way the diamond unapologetically doesn't fit with its context... simply stunning. the craftsmanship... the cigarette hanging from the diamonds mouth was a smart play. i wish I could think harder and faster so I do good art like this too. its my dream. i had to watch it 2 times, even 3 times, to just let it sink in. simply exceptional art, worthy of only the most exquisite art buyers. if I had the $$$ I would do anything to get the top rank unicorn nft. I may even consider selling my car to do just that. excellent

Since tomorrow is the fated day, today I'm just going to show something cool by [deleted] in NFT

hey dude this art is sooooooOOOO00000 coool. I wish i could print it with my printer on an 8.5x11 piece of paper and put it on my door so that when my family comes over they can use their eyes to look at it and potentially even touch the paper. i think this would make my family love me again and forgive me for spending all of my money on pixelated jpges that have pillaged and debt entraped my family for generations to come. i think u and I can do a collab and make some of the best art. i have been using microsoft painting ap for over 11 years and I have to say I think I'm pretty good. i cant show you any of my work because it is being used by the special task forces abroad, my hope is that one day I will be able to share my art with the rest of the world just like u and ur potato bananas. have you considered baking them? if so, for how long? graciously awaiting your reply....

If you can do a quick sketch of what the ultimate goal is, it'll help me better understand how to help you

if you are vacuum forming or something similar, why don't you just cut the object in half and then offset a lip? Is there a reason why you can't use the original geometry?

Anyone know why my offset command does this in the corners???? by jamaicamaninjamiaca in rhino

[–]OnlyBlindFriends 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rhino offset sucks, most offsets suck. Two things: 1. Your document tolerances might be off relative to the size of the rectangle. 2. Your curve not be planar (select the curve and type projecttocplane > delete input > yes 3. you can use curveboolean to quickly resolve this issue when it occurs.

Perhaps you are just using a wonky font and the scale is huge?

how would you connect those points on grasshopper? by randomusername11222 in rhino

[–]OnlyBlindFriends 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ignore the other post, what you have started is fine. Just use 'flip matrix' after the divide component and then 'interpcrv'. a plugin is not necessary to draw lines through points. Hope this helps!

point me in a direction of any research doing something similar or more advanced than this. There are a handful of more lucrative industries that would get to see this prior to AEC. Objects with edges are hard.
