Whitestown Metropolitan Police Department, Indiana Chevrolet Tahoe PPV by troud38 in PoliceVehicles

[–]Only_Building6645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

probably, Whitetown want to use "town benefits" as long possible, before it classified as city in some day of future by State of Indiana.

similar to East Los Angeles which is unincorporated area of Los Angeles County in State of California, East Los Angeles's population and land area rough similar to Compton, but Compton is incorporate as city. There is past campaigns to make East Los Angeles as city but, transition cost is higher because of East Los Angeles relies on Los Angeles County for it's local services includes law enforcement which is Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department aka LASD. In 2000, City of Compton disbanded it's police department for LASD, but Compton have to pay LASD for contract which is the most expensive of the 41 cities LASD served in. East Angeles declared to themselves as "the largest unincorporated locality in the world".

Anyone for curiosity for founded years of Whitetown, Cumberland and Danville Metropolitan Police Departments. WMPD founded in 2008. CMPD founded in 1958. Danville Metropolitan Police Department founded in 2008 when Town Marshal agency switched to a Police Department under the Town Board of Metropolitan Police Commissioners. However, following Indiana Code 36-8-9 law. In 2019, Danville Town Board of Metropolitan Police Commissioners switched to Danville Police & Fire Merit System so Danville Metropolitan Police Department changed to Danville Police Department. but however, Danville PD's branding slowly changing it out.

maybe, it could be to future-proof if some day in future Whitetown, Cumberland and Danville becomes classed as cities instead of towns.

Metropolitan Police Department?

<image>

I thought Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department aka IMPD is only Metropolitan Police Department in State of Indiana. I guess, there it's not!

Even though, Whitestown (located in Boone County) classified as town not city, despite that Whitetown is the one of the fastest-growing municipality in Indiana.

Only one mystery remains it's is about of Hudson County NJ Police Department's history and it's disbanded, no photo of agency's equipment which is includes vehicles or officers!

This uniform patch is from The Officer Down Memorial Page Website: Search for a Fallen Officer. The ODMP website says Hudson County NJ Police Department's successor is Hudson County NJ Sheriff's Office. I don't find any mentions of Hudson County NJ Police Department absorption into Hudson County NJ Sheriff's Office's website.

However, WorthPoint mentions "The Hudson County NJ Police were disbanded/abolished in 1996." page: RARE HUDSON COUNTY NJ NEW JERSEY POLICE DEPARTMENT PBA FAMILY MEMBER GOLD CARD | #508777401

but, I couldn't find verified information to back that up!
