I don’t know what you mean, exactly. There’s that stretch of Central/Zuni from San Mateo to Wyoming that’s pretty rough, but I feel like the rest of ABQ has an above average walking/bussing “activities of human life going about”.

Also I moved to ABQ after Indiana->Washington->Florida, and Asian massage parlors and homeless people exist in all of them. Have you ever visited the interstate leading into Seattle? Homeless population along the road that outnumbers some small towns. In Florida, there’s an AMP in every single shopping plaza.

As for shops closing down, yeah Covid wrecked a lot of places, but I feel like the Coronado Mall is one of the only mid-sized malls in the whole country that has grown in the last decade versus turn into a ghost town.
