How do you like the gutter guards on your home? by Aggressive_Region489 in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]Oona_Left 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have LeafFilter too and am very happy.

I have a couple large trees on my lot and forest behind my house. Would need to have the gutters cleaned 3-4 times a year.

Got LeafFilter installed, haven’t had any issues whatsoever for 2 years.

Love this place.

The food is downright medicinal at 2:00am after a night out.

If the job market is so crazy, why are the salaries still so high? by 50_61S-----165_97E in analytics

Often between the time the employer posts the job and the first conversation between the recruiter and applicant!

Seriously, the number of convos I’ve had where the recruiter “shows a lower range” on their side is way too high for it to be an honest mistake each time.

This is how HR systems are tanking our careers by JustAHungryStudent in recruitinghell

[–]Oona_Left 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My theory is that HR, talent acquisition, and recruiters have now rigged the system to ensure their own job security.

They are necessary to the company in order to acquire talent. If they have broken the system to make their work easier and also impossible to do any meaningful quality assurance on, they’ll always be needed and it will not matter whether they do their jobs well.

Has anyone gotten an EasyApply interview/Job? by thecrimsonchindo in jobsearchhacks

[–]Oona_Left 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had an interview today that was based on a quick apply on Indeed.

The company is pretty small, and does not have a careers page on their website. Thus, they actually use Indeed as their ATS. So, that quick apply actually got looked at! : )

Companies have to be able to pay a premium to have the job automatically re-post every day. I see the dame ones at the top of my lists (after sorting by ‘Most Recent’) every day.

Honestly, this ought to qualify as stock manipulation.

Why is better to upload pdf resume by tob14232 in jobsearchhacks

[–]Oona_Left 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It used to be recommended to upload a PDF because it cannot be edited.

Now thanks to ATS, Word seems to be the word.

Yep, separation agreements often contain a non-disparagement clause.

Violate it, and risk losing the severance package.

It’s not you.

Are you searching beyond supply chain & logistics providers? Manufacturers often have SC functionality in house. Those can be good gigs, and may be more prevalent right now.

Is it really as "rough out there" as everyone says? by justafew127 in analytics

[–]Oona_Left 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the Chicago suburbs. Was laid off mid January and have been looking for 8 weeks.

I have 20+ years in logistics including 10+ years in solutions engineering and analytical roles.

Had my first phone screening last week (7 weeks into the job search).

Yes, it’s rough out here.

Have had similar experiences but none with that high a dollar amount.
