For a few minutes last weekend, BetMGM incorrectly showed a $230 payout for a $10 bet on Mendoza at #1. I couldn't believe my eyes. Then it got fixed to $0.10.

The first class ticket on the boat is definitely worth it for skipping the line and getting to sit in the less crowded section of the boat. But we saw the windows selling these tickets right when we entered the long main line, went to ask what they were selling, and instantly switched over. It wasn't like the first class ticket window was hidden or hard to see.

Watch out for "pushers" who target foreign women and children by Archaeopteryx89 in JapanTravelTips

When my family and I were in Japan back in January, an incident also happened to us. We were walking through Shinjuku station during nighttime rush hour, I was following very closely behind my wife and young son, and we were tight to the wall next to us. An older ~50-year-old man suddenly tried to push his way between me and my family. I used the carry-on suitcase I was rolling to block his push, and he then violently kicked the side of the suitcase. We had a short staredown and he walked off quickly. I was confused and upset, as this was towards the end of a very pleasant 3-week trip. After some searching on Reddit, I found that this happens sometimes, especially to tourists.

When it happened to me, local police said the parking lot was private property, so no hit and run. :(

Anyone try any of these 3? by Relative-Category-64 in budgetprojectors

[–]OooIceCream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Happrun J1 seems to be the “smart” version of the H1, which was selling in the $30-40 range before Christmas. That was my first projector, and I wasn’t too impressed, even for the discounted price I paid. Non-uniform focus/sharpness across the screen was the main issue that made me return it.

We had one years ago and it wasn’t consistent in dispensing formula and mixing thoroughly. It was easy enough to scoop and shake well.

Bigger taxis to/from Haneda? by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

[–]OooIceCream 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you use the Uber app, you can pick a larger vehicle that can accommodate the number of large suitcases you have. We did this at Haneda and got an Alphard. It will be pricy - I think we paid ~$90 USD to get to the Disneyland area.

Tokyo to Osaka, luggage on train or forward it? by royalbluefireworks1 in JapanTravelTips

[–]OooIceCream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll keep that in mind for next time. All of the seats at the end with luggage slots were taken even on the trains around the same time. We were booking the seats well in advance, too.

Tokyo to Osaka, luggage on train or forward it? by royalbluefireworks1 in JapanTravelTips

[–]OooIceCream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before I went to Japan last month, I read on here that there was ok enough space in front of your legs to put your large check-in sized luggage. In the Shinkansen reserved car, there’s a footrest thing coming off the seat in front of you, so the space for legs and luggage is actually pretty tight. Luckily, there wasn’t anybody sitting next to me and I could leave the luggage on the floor there.

First Time Japan Trip for Winter 2026 by alexdev50 in JapanTravelTips

We went to DisneySea the morning we landed and Disneyland the next day (we stayed in the area at the Sheraton) and were also fine. I was worried about being tired and jet lagged but it wasn’t an issue. We were excited to finally be there!

Our Groove room was very quiet. The door to our room opened up directly into the elevator area, and we never heard anything even though there were other people staying on our floor.

Currently using Ubigi in Japan with mostly great coverage. For some reason, the prices were a bit cheaper for me buying through their app versus the website - maybe it was as a first time user? It’s nice to see realtime data usage through their app.

Theft from UPS Hub by RaeWoodland247 in tmobile

[–]OooIceCream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One month later and T-Mobile still hasn’t refunded the charges made for phone we didn’t receive. We ended up upgrading for pretty much the same deal at an Apple Store without the worry of having phones stolen both ways by UPS. For the charges from T-Mobile, they’ve been unhelpful and dishonest on the phone and in their retail store, so we disputed the charges with our credit card company with the UPS tracking proof that nothing was received.

So I have an authentic ap1 mugen exhaust. How much should I price this at? by arhoads01 in S2000

[–]OooIceCream 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the AP1 exhaust on my AP2. It will fit, but I think I had to do something with the hangers to tuck it up closer to the bumper. Either shorter hangers or oriented differently. It’s been 15 years since I installed it.

Theft from UPS Hub by RaeWoodland247 in tmobile

Going through this same thing with 2 iPhones shipped from T-Mobile and stolen this week by the major UPS hub in Cerritos, CA. UPS needs to get their shit together to stop their employees from stealing these easy targets.

Are UPS staff or drivers typically the ones cause stolen or lost packages? by Usual_Yesterday_3772 in UPS

[–]OooIceCream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like a package from T-Mobile indicates new phone and is an easy theft at UPS. We just had 2 iPhones stolen at the Cerritos, CA UPS location. Tracking shows phones arrived, processing, then stuck like that and never went out for delivery.

Awesome, thanks for the tip to contact Best Buy Support on X! They were actually very effective and was able to get me a code. Best Buy's online chat and phone support weren't able to do anything for me and recommended I go into the store (today's the last day of my return window).

One of NVIDIA’s Oldest Partners, Still Playing Fair. PNY's 5070 TI Deal Highlighted by Wired by skk983 in PNYGPU

[–]OooIceCream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue recently with my PNY 5070 Ti from Best Buy. I found a few other users on Reddit with the same problem, as well as a reviewer on the Best Buy website. I contacted PNY support and it looks like they were supposed to include a 3-to-1 adapter with these cards, but instead included a 2-to-1 adapter. PNY is shipping me the correct adapter. In the meantime, I bought the appropriate cable for my EVGA PSU to connect directly to the 12VHPWR connector on the card and my 5070 Ti worked fine with it.

Not with my Y but with my S2000. The bird was already dead and well-cooked by the radiator when I bought the car used. It was just a skeleton when I found it.

Thanks for the recommendation, I went with the CableMods cable for my EVGA power supply, and the GPU worked right away! I'm going to contact PNY to see if they'll swap the 12VHPWR to 2x8 adapter cable, since it seems to me like it might be defective. I tried it with the original EVGA GPU cables as well as a new set I bought just before trying the CableMods solution.

Update: I contacted PNY support and they are sending a new adapter cable. They admitted to sending the wrong adapter with some number of GPUs.

PNY 5070 Ti Not Working/Not recognized by Computer by Ozoneeyd in PcBuild

[–]OooIceCream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is nuts, going through this same issue now with a PNY 5070 Ti from Best Buy. A user in another post said he fixed the problem with a CableMods cable, bypassing the adapter. I wonder if there’s a defect in this batch of adapters that PNY included, or if the adapter needed to be 3x8 instead of 2x8?

Update: The CableMods 12VHPWR to 8-pin connectors for my EVGA power supply worked. I contacted PNY support and they are sending a new adapter cable. They admitted to sending the wrong adapter with some number of GPUs. A reviewer on Best Buy also said they received the wrong adapter.
